Great entertainment yesterday at The Gallagher with a come from behind win for the Stones Legends. Good to see hero's from our recent past doing really well. Richard Sinden on fire and Bert Roser looks as though he could step straight back into the team.....

Other highlights: -
Goals from Richard Monks & Ryan Royston ( from a corner, how else ) and, for a Sunday, some poor language from a short & squat former manager directed at everyones favourite fullback with a long throw who's positional sense perhaps never was the greatest.

Well Sinders is keeping himself fit for a Wembley appearance for The Wells.. He came on as a last minute sub for them on Saturday. Other Stones 'legends' at the Wells include Jason Barton. Also Michael Czanner is number two keeper. Lewis Mingle also played for them on Saturday.. and a couple of others!

Was a good day shame the weather wasnt more warmer think the gate would of been a lot more! Think attendance was around 750 or something! Some good performances from our boys,Nathan and bert roser could easily get in and play nowadays! Austin still looks decent! Sinders and monksy livened things up and showed they still have ability! Though there keeper was awful! But well done boys especially the 2nd half boys! Good to see buts, galley,Beeney and Jason Lillis though he didn't move much! And I know he gets stick but good to see Lloyd back after the way he left! He doesn't get the credit he deserves for wot he did for yrs in struggling times with no money!

Have to say I enjoyed the game, quite entertaining for a bunch of (mostly) unfit ex-players. It was great to catch up with some of our former players after the game, especially Nathan Paul who expressed a desire to re-sign for the Stones - apparently he approached Jay prior to the season starting.
The only real disappointment was that the, so-called, Lashings All-Stars disappeared from the ground so quickly after the game with only a handful making an appearance in the social club to sign autographs, but I guess with Lashing sponsoring them they were contractually obliged to drink there!

A much more enjoyable second half after a rather slow first half. Yes, Nathan, Bert and Austo still look pretty sharp, and Ryan didn't look too bad either (although I understand that he doesn't play regularly any more due to injury).
Had to laugh that the loudest chant of the day was "He's only got one eye" after Ryan's goal. I wonder if Mr Shearer has ever been forgiven for starting that one?
Shame it was bloody freezing. I suppose those involved thought that late March would be a safe bet for the weather. If we have another game next year then maybe May would be better - could be combined with an end-of-season party or something.
