Yeah. Was good to see the ball played to feet rather than being lumped aimlessly forward. Apart from a few minutes leading up to half time we looked comfortable. Andrews was immense, Harley looked exactly what he was, a class above, and for a change we pretty much controlled the midfield. I must give a quick mention to Eastbourne's number 3, who looked like he enjoyed a few too many pies but was probably their best player. I think we would have won a lot more comfortably if not for him

agree with you daveu. at 1st you'd think whats he doing at left back? i even had a double check to see if they were playing 5 across the back. he was their best player.

i was level with the edge of the box on the stand side, my opinion was no penalty..took place about a foot outside..but these things even themselves out..the challenge on ade in the secound half definate penalty.. on the subject of penalties.. there have been a lack of them at home for us or visiting teams

I didn't agree that we struggled but I could see where they were coming from. With the difference in class it could have been a lot more comfortable than it was. It was certainly a nervous last few minutes and another goal earlier on would have been very welcome.

Thought we started really brightly in first 10-15 minutes but as the game wore on & we didn't score they seemed to get to grips with the game. Thought the pen might change matters but it didn't really. Although they didn't really threaten it was too nervy being just 1 nil up going into the last 10 mins. On balance however I think the score line was just about right

About one in twenty.

Can't comment on the penalty decision as I had nipped to the toilet. I thought they did enough game wise. Still a lot of missed passes in all areas and some players do seem to slip over the ball. I assume the surface still gets a "greasy" as a damp pitch would do.

Their report is not that impressed with our performance: www.etfc.biz/But I guess that 3 points is all that really matters at the moment.

Some kind of joke that report. OK if you accept that the height of Eastbourne's ambition was a 0 - 0.

on the subject of penalties.. there have been a lack of them at home for us or visiting teams Recently, yes, but in the first few months of the season we seemed to get quite a few. Then again, at that time we were rarely outside the other team's penalty area. More recently, we haven't spent much time inside it.

Not sure where the bit about our main tactic being to lump the ball long came from, or that Welford was well marshalled. I thought we mixed it up pretty well, passing the ball to feet and only going long when it merited it. But when we did go long Shaun won virtually everything in the air. The only slight criticism was that sometimes we were a bit over-elaborate, but I'd rather that than the hoof and hope of a few weeks ago

I'll actually ask if the person who wrote that was even watching the same game.
Very poor reporting and a wholly biased view, although a bad one, of Eastbourne.
