Gotta be "the blue team from over the hill". They were our rivals, even before we were in the Football League.

It would have to be Gillingham, but since there is a massive gap between the leagues we currently play in, I would Say currently its any team in Kent that happens to be in the same league as us......simples

Rivalry neednt always be solely football related, nor be dependent on the levels played at. It will always be gillingham, followed by the mangles

Gillingham is the team I look for to see if they lose on a Saturday evening. On that basis I see them as local rivals regardless of what league they are in. It was the same when they were in the second flight of England and we were 20,000 leagues below the sea. I don't change Gillingham for another team as we move up and down the leagues.

Think this might depend on your age. For me it is always the Girls but I remember the mid 80's when there was always a rivalry with Gravesend, probably as they were the nearest side in the same division for most of that time. Can't say I've ever considered the likes of Tonbridge as a serious rival despite the fact that they are currently above us in the pyramid.

The Mangles for me, then probably Dartford and Sittingbourne. Never seen us play Gillingham although I have come across enough of their fans to dislike them. Also dislike some other clubs (e.g. Ramsgate), but don't really consider them rivals.

It would seem that, according to the most recent gills forum thread on the subject, their fans don't think they ve got a rival. Maidstone seem too irrelevant and too far down the pyramid to bother about.
