Clearly, the Burgess Hill defence was equal to our attack and worked hard. Other than steve watt, their forward line was a match for our defence, who I thought were lucky to have a clean sheet.

Yes it was poor again today so so many long balls down the center Burgess hill had a couple of big strong center backs who were never tested on the ground . We badly need a play maker in the middle because either we are unable or unwilling to play a pass and movement type game that is needed on that 3g surface. It seems even more strange now that Ben Davidson our most creative player was released when we cant carve out a single chance again a mid table side if things are working out we got to (If we can) move to a plan B.. My motm Tommy oz looked in control today.

no game plan, no tactics, no flair, no passion, no leadership...playing like a team under massive pressure. keep it simple, MOVE, keep the ball not hoof it in the air. Number 4 for stones was excellent today and need more of his level in the side.....

One word describes that performance DIRE!! 70mins until out 1st shot at goal, yes AT goal, not even on target, we had to wait a further 5mins for one ON target. Alex Brown so much better in the center, Flisher swopping wings? wheb you had a right midfield player on the bench.. MOTM? only one contender as far as i am concern, for the best central defence performance of the season Steve Watt. Although i cannot see him staying for a second month as he is not prone to booting the ball as far up field as possible, he plays the ball out of defence, such a joy to watch.. As has been said in earlier posts its playoffs for us, dropping home points is criminal,Dulwich has gained 4pts on us in a week and still kept their 3 games in hand.

Steve Watt was the only positive to come out of that.

Well what was that? No passion no idea no clue. The team should be ashamed of themselves, apart from Shaun, who has run himself into the ground all season I feel so sorry for Terry, Bill, and the others who have worked tirelessly to bring the Stones home, and then badly let down by the players. To be getting the gates we have, has been fantastic, which has gone someway to repay their efforts. Lets all pull together, come on you Stones, have some pride

Crap ! Alex brown plays in central midfield ffs , a bit like playing draycott on the wing a few matches back, it don't work. The only positive was a clean sheet amongst the dross on show .

Can't believe the awful display, lump it forward and try to get 2 strikers woefully short of pace to the knock down, that's if Shaun isn't on the wing or defending as he did quite a lot today.
No point having Brown on the wing either. Have to agree with Munster that Warren would have perfect forays like today.

If you turned up today as a neutral, unaware of league placings, you would have thought it a mid table game. Played by two very average sides, our style of play constantly knocking it long to Shaun is predictable and easy to defend against. Hence the results against supposedly inferior opposition. So no we wont win the league and unless we wake up and start using that pitch to our advantage and get the bloody ball on the floor, I cant see us winning the play offs either.

Our midfield is the weak link. It doesn't matter how many forwards you have in the team, you need to have a midfield to get the ball there. Tim O and Phillips can't use the ball and Brown wasted on the wing. When the defence have the ball no-one shows for it and if they do, they don't know what to do with it. They have got so used to hoofing it, they barely look. Can't understand the love in for Tommy Os. Not good defensively or going forward. Whitely wasn't perfect but is sorely missed. Ball into King's feet with his back to goal with midfield runners is the way forward.

I fully expected 3 points from the game today so it was disappointing to only take a point. What was even more disappointing for me was the performance. It is easy for us on the sidelines to criticise but that is not what is needed. The booing at the end today was uncalled for. They need our support now more than ever this season and if we are to manage promotion then we have to play our part so get behind the team. The new CB Steve Watt looked class throughout and even though he picked up a yellow early on he completely dominated that area for us and always looked to play it out through the midfield. A very good addition by Jay. How many times has Jay been able to name an unchanged side this season? Very few. That won't help and it still looks to me like we are nursing a few which is a concern but we still have a squad that can get promotion. We dropped 2 points today but we are still top by 2 with a better GD and with Dulwich to play. Still all to play for. Keep the faith.

I thought Watt was really unlucky to get a yellow for that challenge so early in the game - looked like a sort of 'Hi I'm new to this league lets try a getting to know you foul early on ' challenge.
I'm sure if Steven wanted to really fold up the guy he could have done as well..................

I must have been watching a different game.
They came with one purpose and one purpose only and that was a point. The reaction from their bench and officails in the main stand was as though they had just won the league.
If we had anyone with the ball they had 3 players around them with one stnding just back. There was no way they were going to allow us to pass the ball about. The fact they had a free kick on the edge of the box with 5 minutes to go and left 5 players back says it all.
Yes we were flat, lacklustre, missing passes and it was bloody frustrating and annoying to watch but they didn;t let us do anything.

Like so many Sussex teams in this League Animal they passed the ball well in midfield but had no cutting edge ( well, apart from when Derren decided to present them with a couple of chances ..... ).
