good to see that last nights attendance of 132 was bigger than 10 of last nights ryman games and better then the crowd at concord rangers v hastings league cup semi-final. i think that shows the club are doing things right and people are enjoying coming to the gallagher. coys

OK it's dangerous to talk about games that you haven't seen ( only from behind the comfort of a computer screen ), but I don't think this result is helpful at all.
Sure the 'Dere are having a great season and will finally go up to Ryman 1 South at the end of this year, but to lose 1 - 4 to them ??
We had enough good players involved to have done much better than that.
As for the attendance, about 1/15 th of a normal Saturday gate, how is that encouraging ??

Like your good self Porkystone i neither watched the game. These sort of games are about the players involved, not the result.I noticed that 7 of them were academy players, so good experience against a higher level and older opposition than they would normally play. Some players also need these sort of games to get game time after either a lay off from injury or being in and around the first team setup. Also there was those that Jay got to have a look at for the first time(Trailists), and the goalie got a rare run out.I would go as far as suggesting Jay tried some players out of position to see what they could do.

So far as I can see from the report, E & B's team was mostly made up of our players too. So we got the result anyway!

I accept all of the above, but according to the Official Site involved we had:
Kessell, Hope, Humphrey, Johnson, Lye, Olorunda (T), Hill, Draycott, Woolery, King.
Ok we made changes in the 2nd half, but by then we were down anyway...................
So back to my original point, how is that encouraging ??

The result doesn't really matter. This was about giving players some more game time to improve their fitness and to give some academy players a chance to mix with first teamers. If the result was the main thing here we might as well have played a full-strength team. Certainly encouraging to see the Academy boys get a run out.
