I have been looking at Dulwich's and Maidstone's remaining fixtures and found the following: 11 weeks of the season remaining - Maidstone have 15 fixtures, 7 at 1 per week, 4 at 2 per week (one is Easter Monday so 3 mid week fixtures left) Dulwich have 19 fixtures left (inc. at least 1 league cup game), 3 at 1 per week, 8 at 2 per week (1 Easter Monday, 7 mid week fixtures). Those 8 weeks for Dulwich at 2 games per week are all consecutive, starting after next week. I don't care what anyone says, that will take a toll in terms of fitness, injuries and suspensions for them so I would still make Maidstone favorites for the title, need to keep winning though to keep the pressure on.

On paper they have the harder fixtures remaining too, Leatherhead, Crawley Down, Hythe etc, we have these games out of the way, should be exciting.... COYS

Most leagues are won (and lost) in the last week of the season. This will probably go the same way! Our last home match of the season could be a belter!

Thanks for making that point, chaps. When I suggested on Saturday that we've got the worst of our season out of the way, I was derided as a prawn vol-au-vent eating ivory-tower dweller. Blooming plebs.

It doesn't matter how many games you play in a short period, if you are winning this breeds confidence and fatigue is not such a big factor. Its gunna go down to the wire I reckon. Need to keep Flish fit, he makes a massive difference when we decide to actually play football on the ground.

If Maidstone are to win the league it will be on the last day of the season . We have always done it like that , its the Maidstone way .

Indeed, Stainese. Not really worth bothering with the games in between. Just gan to the Horsham game.

Taken from Dulwich's forum after the recent meeting re the ground :
"They are more than happy to speak to supporters at any time if anyone wishes to express further concerns but, as things stand, there is no threat to the football club although money is extremely tight as revenue streams are squeezed in the current economic conditions."
Could they be forced to let some players go ? That would affect them massively, what with the already congested fixture list for them.

I thought the redevelopment of the ground did raise some concerns as the submitted plans for their supposed new grounds wouldn't be up to required standards, never mind the Premier Divison but also Division 1 South. Still as i have said on a previous thread they have a lot of games coming up and going by what happened to us with the games in hand we had, we can only hope that they also drop some points, I still believe we will go up, hopefully as champions..COYS

Well, this was my theory until recently. But just look at the form of the two teams:
Dulwich - WWWWWDWWWW - 28pts - 2.8pts/game
Maidstone - WWDDWWLWDD - 19pts - 1.9pts/game
10 games too many? It's even worse over the last 4:
Dulwich - WWWW - 12 - 3
Stones - LWDD - 5 - 1.25
We're doing less than half as well as them!
By the time we play them, they'll have played their games in hand, and could be 5 points ahead of us. In fact, on current form, they could well be 10 points ahead of us!!
OK, silly, I know, it's football after all and there are a lot of games to go, plus DH have got problems we haven't. But the fact remains we need both to get back on winning form AND hope that they hit a rough patch.
I am NOT a fan of the play-offs!
