Hello all,i moved to maidstone about ten years ago and have followed the club ever since, yes was there in the days of going to ashford and sittingbourne supporting the lads.I like all of us think the new facility is great which has brought lots of new fans, which is good but its still away games you see the faces from the years of struggle, and on that note a good turn out saturday would be nice. Those idiots from saturday wont be there, which is the reason im on here as it is a lunch time piss up for some at our games so we do need to tackle it.

During the cup games there was a section fenced off around the outside bar, perhaps this can become a permanant feature with bouncers to police it (or JT with his AK47)

the club will be making a fortune from sales of beer during the match, theres no way they will stop it (and rightly so).

Unless they serve complimentary food, smoked salmon, prawns, soups, pasta, pizza and drinks. a programme and a nice padded seat, I'm not coming down.
I'll lend the AK to someone though.

With all that money maybe a few paid security people can be hired to help our volunteer stewards. I mean this as no slight on our stewards who do an excellent job, I just think the crowds are much bigger than anyone imagined and perhaps require some additional resources. I am if course aware that paid security is not always an unqualified success ( think Tonbridge).

Me and a few mates have been to a lot of the home games and went to Hythe away. We are going to Folkestone away this sat and have decided to make it a family day. Wives and kids are comming so lets show people that Maidstone are decent fans and not let a few morons ruin the reputation of the club.

Personally I've always found Folkestone a friendly and welcoming club and a fair few of us have taken our kids their in the past. As you say, let's hope we all behave ourselves :-)

Indeed Russ, although when we lost 0 - 4 there in our last Season in Ryman Prem ( 2010 / 11 ) I did offer a fairly unforgivable word to some home fans when being goaded about our place in Ryman 1 South Next Year. Lets hope its a good day out.............

russc, I believe the club pay the two guys who stand by the door into the clubhouse as they are professional bouncers, but I agree with the size of crowds we are getting we could do with a couple more.

Yep, fair point, we do already have some paid security people there, and very professional and friendly they are too. One or two more strategically placed to assist our stewards would be great.

If I was a Bouncer & saw Big Mick ( aka Mountain Troll ) coming towards me I'd be provoked as well......... ( In fact, I'd provoke myself ).
