Reading the comments about not clearing the snow for the youth/training etc from the pitch at the weekend, what are the chances for tuesday? Will they clear it for a first team game, as I suspect it will still be around given the low temperatures?

After a couple of hundred people (at least ) having their time wasted on Saturday (although not the Stones fault) wouldn't it be nice to have a nice early decision to avoid all the is it on is it off bullsh!t of the weekend.

Sure there is plenty of volunteers should MUFC require them.

Isn't there serious concerns that removing the snow could damage the subbase of the pitch, and cause more problems in the future? With this in mind, I'd say Folkestone def off and Saturdays game must also be in doubt as the thaw not due until Sunday Unless there is a way of melting the snow with hot air blowers rather than moving it with shovels

I think the cancellation of this game will not help the cause of trying to get 3g installed and accepted by the FA at other grounds

I think the cancellation of this game will not help the cause of trying to get 3g installed and accepted by the FA at other grounds Why? We have already played a number of times on days of mass postponements (Brighton, Worthing, Three Bridges) and you can bet if the Gallagher had grass we wouldn't even be discussing the possibility of games this week in sub zero temperatures. It has always been clear 3g cannot cope with snow but a vast majority of postpone ments are due to frost and waterlogging anyway

Moley i think its amazing when getting the 3g pitch that they didn't invest in a cover for the pitch, i think it was a bit short sighted but hey its a new ground and we can always expect some teething problems which can hopefully be avoided in the future

Toonarmy a cover would still not necessarily erase this issue, everyone is thinking that all we needed was a cover however i can assure that a cover alone would not have entirely prevented this postponement
