I think it was Dulwich desire to get the game played on a saturday that blinded them to the reality of the state of the pitch . With almost every other game off what chance did they think they have .

...an utter disgrace and completely unacceptable, whoever was party to today's decisions / announcements should be barred from ever doing so in the future...idiots
- as a matter of principal, Dulwich will not be getting my gate fee for the rearranged fixture

ill probably go and watch the rearranged game as to me there is now added incentive to stuff them but wont waste any money on drinks/food inside the ground.

I think we should still go to the game and support the boys, I will be going for definite regardless of when the game is rescheduled

Can't see how avoiding the game will benefit anyone. The more fans we have the more it's likely to inspire the players. And the chance to smash Dulwich and be there after this debacle is enough to convince me i want to attend.

Anyone reading this would have thought we were playing in Hartlepool, not at The Hamlet. C'mon get a grip, some of you sound a right bunch of pussies, not hardened Isthmian League fans who will always find a positive from a negative. The Sainsbury's had 270 extra lines than the Maidstone Branch and stocked a fine 2005 Rioja.
Cheers and see you on Tue

I was pissed off when arriving at the ground at 130pm to be told by the guy in the turnstile that the game was off, I thought he was joking but he wasn't, I dont blame Dulwich for the game being called off, I did at 130pm but after thinking about it, I think we should say a big well done to the Dulwich supporters who had been out all morning trying to sort the pitch out and look forward to the rescheduled game in a few weeks, I hope we are able to have a decent turnout just like we have had at such places as Whitstable, Shitehawk and Burgess Hill, so let's all move on from this debacle and get ready for Tuesday nights game against Folkestone, obviously that's of course it isn't called off. DH had won 8 and drawn 2 out of the last 10, so they were in form and were desperate for the game to be on. I was only 10 minutes into my journey when I found out it was off, so I was not put out too much. Feel sorry for everyone who left the Stone early on the train and all the DH fans who cleared the pitch, but yeah the management of DH are accountable for all this. Most of the Ryman games were called off yesterday. DH were winging it. How can the other 32 games be off and that 1 is on ? Jokers.

I turned up at 1.30pm to do commentary. One Dulwich official told me that the referee wanted it played and that it was the players (from both teams) who were complaining. They were claiming that patches within the centre circle were still frozen solid. But I have to say I took a walk all over the affected area and my boots sunk into the ground everywhere I tested the pitch. I thought that studs/blades would probably easily dig in and grip the surface. I'm no expert but.......!! The rest of the pitch looked perfectly green and playable. Sad and annoying, 90-mile round trip and about £15 of petrol for nothing. But its all in the past and we must move on.
