Why are we signing Wanjau-Smith? Elokobi got rid for a reason and we really don’t need him. Why aren’t we playing Coulthirst either? Just absolutely baffled by this . Just my opinion which doesn't count for much but as a defender I'd much rather play against Shaq than Wanjau Smith. Coulthirst to slow and predictable imo. edit:- I'm nearly 50 now so wouldn't fancy my chances against either of them 🤣

Everyone's talking as though WS signing is a done deal.

I'm a fan of wanjau-smith, but still can't help but feel that a player who hasn't got into a team for a club who is in 19th place, and spent most of last season injured, is on paper a poor signing. Let's hope he plays better on a pitch. Jesus! Next we'll be signing a player from a bottom of the league side who can't even get a game, sorry we already have.

Everyone's talking as though WS signing is a done deal. If hes training with the club like its been said by multiple people on Facebook, it is a done deal.

Just absolutely baffled by this 1) He'll accept our levels of pay 2) He's willing to come to the club 3) He's willing to play under our management 4) We completely lack ambition

Georges selection of attacking players, who then score or create goals is pretty woeful.
Bentley, Shaq, Reynolds, Ludacris, Sol, just to name a few. He just has got lucky with a few along the way (Levi/Blair) who basically prop everything up to offer the biggest goal threat.
Surprised George hasn't had Shamir Mullings back on trial

I meant in the sense of someone still able to score goals and get points, which puts a lot on his shoulders to perform. If he got injured, or like Levi vanishing half way through the season (at which point we were really then toothless) then we would be pretty much a lame duck

Should never have let Sam Bone go, not least because he is a genuine utility player - midfield, defence and gets a few goals too. Player fitness is certainly an underlying problem and while some of our squad seem to cope, too many others don't. George is well known as a fitness freak and from what I hear players do an awful lot and get chosen on fitness over ability. Given how many were injured early in the season (and too many not back yet), you have to wonder. It's great that we can run for two hours plus, but do we spend enough time on skills? As for who else we might sign, at our level, have said before, location is a big factor. If we were in the Midlands or up North, there would be many more options and persuading players to up sticks and move to a more expensive part of the country, away from friends and family is very much part of the problem.

Geography is part of the problem. I don't know how much our players get but I'd guess at £30-35,000 which doesn't go that far in the Southeast but from the Midlands up that sort of money goes an awful lot further as it is generally much cheaper to live in t'north. The point being why would a player from Manchester on £35k come to Maidstone on the same money and be far worse off financially.

Amantchi got injured before he left, and was pretty much out of action for the rest of the season, so whether or not he "vanished" is irrelevant. 2. George brought Rush in before Amantchi left. 3. We scored more league goals after Amantchi left than we did before (30 before, 42 afterwards - 1.5g/game before, 1.6g/game afterwards)

Nothing wrong with George requiring his players to be fit, they are professional athletes after all. Thoselong term injured are suffering from foot injuries and nothing to do with being over trained. I don't think we are disadvantaged by our geographic location, We have a catchment area of the whole of London, Essex and Sussex with numerous Premier sides and Championship sides who have to move on players. Money talks but there should be plenty of choice.

Like with Hak luckily winning the league
