To another team or another plane of existence

We’ve lost about 300 fans who eventually never came back once it became clear we actually were miles apart from a NL side after the initial buoyancy with Saunders. Carry on as we are, by which I mean playing painful at times football, having little connection with fans (where’s the likes of Lewis, prestedge, Paxman, Flisher type bonds?) combined with a clear lack of ambition and we will lose a lot more than 300 in another few year period Lewis was a chest beating poser while he was here. Didn’t take him long to start doing the same for Dover when we played them. No real loyalty or even feeling for the club. Just a crowd pleasing display. But the point is whilst here he still connected well, and even had his own song, and amazingly he was a loan player we actually then signed properly if I recall. How times have changed

Not really. Some loan players if they do well, the club has the option of signing, others you don't. Simple. Nothing has changed

Nothing has changed The only real difference was Ebbsfleet weren’t offered loads of money for Lewis. BW came in with an offer for Benton we couldn’t match. That’s no fault of the club, just a simple fact of life.

True, BUT back in the day I had it on good authority (anon source) that Lewis got paid £1,000 a week then. Worth a bit more today, prob £1,200. Not sure that we pay that sort of money these days. Although you don't seem to respect Lewis much, imo he did very well for the Stones and was worth his inflated wages.

I just question some supporters’ inflated opinion of his loyalty. Yes he was all chest thumps and fist pumps, but that was just for show. I couldn’t imagine him ever coming to a watch us unlike Luque for example who seems to have a genuine affection for the club.

Stewart has watched us numerous times with his dad. He just doesn’t make a show of it. Always chats to supporters in the Spitfire when he’s about.

I think most supporters would prefer a player who beat his chest and did fist bumps, but actually performed week in week out (which he did) then a player who is 50/50 in if they decide to turn up and have a positive influence on the team, which then spreads to others

seems the rumours on another signing are increasing - this one could really divide the jury

Serious humble pie from George if both return. I would have them back, but probably wouldn't have ditched them in the first place, certainly not Bone

This is what I was alluding to last week
Bone was pretty good but we got rid for reason.
SWS is lightweight, doesn't score and is injury prone. He wasn't good enough to keep in the summer and he hasn't been good enough for a weak Bath side.
If these happen, it just further demonstrates how poor our squad management and recruitment is.
And as for ambition....

Sol would be a stupid signing. He's hardly pulled up trees at Bath, scoring 3 in 14.
