I think with so few tickets a ballot system would have been fairer. I said it around the time of the Ipswich game, but a fan club / membership to use as a reliable database if nothing else would save the club so much hassle for times where tickets are in demand. It recognises that not everyone can afford / commit to a whole season of games and gives priority to those should have it. So the club have Season tickets and part of the season ticket is priority for big matches yet you want to set up a fan club/membership scheme meaning something else the club has to go through and spend money on for potentially 1-3 games a season and in most cases ZERO games per season. Whilst it's not perfect the Season ticket priority system that the club use is the best solution for the amount of times that this type of situation arises (Oh and i am saying this as someone who is NOT a season ticket holder and is not able to get a ticket) 22/23 NONE 21/22 Dorking away 20/21 NONE (the few games you could attend Hendon, Wimborne etc) 19/20 NONE 18/19 NONE 17/18 Possibly Cheltenham (I can't remember now) 16/17 NONE 15/16 Ebbsfleet Playoff Final Away So in the previous 8 season's 2 possibly three games have had any type of requirement like this. If this was a normal league game there would be no need for online ticketing as there would only be around 150-200 Maidstone fans going NWS has already mentioned he was at the league game away at Worthing as was I and neither of us are going this Sunday, BUT neither of us have an issue with how the club are allocating the tickets. Being a Season ticket holder gives you various perks, at Maidstone those perks are -- A number of games FOC when you purchase the season ticket -- Priority tickets for big match away games -- Early bird renewal price offers for the following season There is NO need for any other scheme membership program at all. Well I am saying it was very fair apart from me not getting one.🤣🤣

What did they say when you told them? Or did you email them? I e-mailed them and asked the question but haven't received a response yet. I'm sure they are busy or maybe not anyone in the office at the moment but hopefully we get an explanation in the coming days otherwise I will start to believe what Sword and others have said in the past that they don't really value fans. Really hoping Braintree beat Chelmsford so we don't have to go through this again in the final. I have just received an apology from Ian Tucker so fair enough.

Ian found my email instantly on the clubs system and also ticket pass and quoted it to me. I said I know the email works for ticket pass as ticket pass emailed me my ticket for Aveley in the week when I bought it. They said they would look into the issue as I said that if the same happens again if we have to play Chelmsford I may not get a ticket. John confirmed that I had earlier in the season also complained of not getting a ST holder newsletter by email and he said he had added me to the list. Ian said this time they downloaded all emails addresses from ticket pass and sent out via that list. Obviously something is amiss and I hope they can resolve it. I’ll obviously publish any reply I get. I asked them to contact/email me the results of their findings. I forgot to add that I also told them that many ST holders had had the same issue as me and I wasn’t alone in the disappointment.

Another point. If the club's allocation was around the 460 mark, how many of those were actually available to supporters ? I'm guessing that the club was less 'generous' than usual in respect of players and staff but hard to imagine that less than say 60 were distributed internally. So that would leave just 400 for STH's. A pretty miserable figure. But just can't be helped. I got my notification from the club at 5.59pm and managed to buy my 2 tickets ok at around 6.05pm, but I reckon they were all sold by 6.20pm. Its the early bird and all that ! Happy days !

I am on the ticket-pass scheme but I am not a STH. Yet you say Ian said the club used the ticket-pass data for contacting supporters. But isn't that something totally different to the list of STH's, Please tell me I've got this wrong. And yes, I got an invite from the club to apply for tickets for the match, which I did and was successful.

There’s a facility within ticket pass to send an invitation to buy tickets to a mailing list. The club would have provided this to Worthing I guess who sent the links out after creating the mailing list. Sounds like the data used was wrong or old or incomplete.

Might be driving to Worthing on Sunday, but I don't drive very often, so might take the train instead (it's twice the travel time, but I really don't like driving).
Anyone know what the parking is like there? I've tried their site but can't find anything. And I assume it's best to go M20/26/25/23? Cross country (A26, etc) is more direct, but is mostly slow roads.
Anyone else thinking of going by train? The cost is slightly less than driving for me, as I have to hire a car, but the journey by train is twice as long because of going up to London and back (the cross country route via Tonbridge is out because of engineering works, and is slow anyway).

Great post. The repeated demands from the more vindictive parts of the fanbase for away attendance to take priority over Season ticket holders are fundamentally flawed. The only scenario where a points system based on game attendances (both home and away) could be implemented is if the rest of the league adopts the same approach. As it stands, this would only be feasible with an improbable promotion to the EFL. Additionally, this same group of fans is unwilling to purchase a season ticket, making it impossible for the club to keep track of the games they attend. Isn't this another reason to buy a season ticket and support the club during the off-season? Just to point out I was taking the mick with my post. However, the repeated claim, since we are going there, that STHs take precedence at all ticket home games because they put funds in up front is invalid in this instance, as we are away. Surely, on that basis, the people that rocked up to watch us get gubbed 5-1 and put their money into Worthing FC have the most validity. I will painstakingly point out, again, that there are those of us that work some Saturdays. I've been to 20 games this season but cannot guarantee that I will be off when we are at home. Buying a season ticket would mean I'd probably pay £30 a game.

Looked at train. Worthing is one of those places near the end of a very slow stopping service. There is a quicker service with extra changes at places like Gatwick and Croydon, but that relies on nothing going wrong. Maybe better to stick with the slower direct trains. Ignore the Trainline prices and try the ticket office/machine at the station. Also, don’t know why they’re threatening extreme weather; nothing showing on BBC forecast.

Given the scarcity of tickets I'm surprised that STH's were allowed 2 tickets each
Given that only around 400 were available to supporters they could have gone to just 200 individuals.
In fact worse than that cause once in the link the ticket scheme allowed you 2 tickets in every category (2adults, 2 concessions, 2 youth etc)
Next time hopefully it will be fairer
