To be fair to Hak, I'm not sure he wanted to sign up most of the squad.
As I remember it, the re-signings got dripped out and it seemed obvious that he had gone back to players he knew because, for various reasons, probably money, he couldn't get others.

I like Sol as a NLS player. Busy, tricky player but dont let us make Hak's mistake and sign up 75% of the squad. Sol is another one that just won't make the cut imo. I think George should limit himself to no more than 8 existing squad players maximum if we get promoted. If we stay in NLS he will still need to freshen things up with at least 6 new faces. 8 sounds like a decent number. My 8 would be Covolan, Fowler, Greenidge, Brown, Corne, Tanga, Faal & Rush. Although I may be tempted to go with Kyprianou, Sole & Bone too. |

Indeed last time Fowlers was pulled all over the shop in NL and left gaping holes which were exploited time and time again but he may have learned from that so not a bad 8 with Bone a 9th but sadly although Kyps was an FA cup legend and is very likeable he just doesn’t have the skill for NL as his poor left wing performance against Aveley as he can’t take players on and either needs a shirt pads or make a long left foot wellying which he is good at but is NLS at best. The nine would be a good core but we need nine NL quality with them to survive. Having said that I’ll be very surprised if we beat Worthing so probably won’t be an issue as for NLS most of the squad are good with maybe half a dozen recruits/departures |
