Centre midfield or defensive midfield in front of back 3/4 Scored twice last season, Farnborough and Eastbourne Maybe challenger for Gurung. That shouldn't be too difficult for him

In his interview Arj says he is a creative midfielder and is looking to score more goals.

I hope Dorking and Marc White fall flat on their arse and finish 8th. Why only 8th? Anything below 20th would suit me. Yea, yea, yea. Same old rubbish. Marc White reckons his club have a BRILLIANT SIDE, they will play WINNING FOOTBALL, play a POSSESSION GAME and are CLEAR FAVOURITES. The man is always way OTT, but you know something, he's not wrong. It will be a major upset if any other team gets their noses in front of the Wanderers, so don't put your house on it ! Boring Wood must be favourites for runners up with the bookies. Stones close behind, def in top 4. If Stones can get cause an upset, great.

Harsh but true jackster.
George is creating a team good enough to compete with the best, but beating them, thats something else.
Still without a keeper so thats a worry.
Maybe a couple more signings including a CB please

Stones close behind, def in top 4. If Stones can get cause an upset, great. I would expect both to be in the running too, but if they're both that good, how do you explain last season? Dorking only managed 16th in their first NL season. They spent nearly all the season in the bottom half of the table, and, after a brief early-season peak at 6th (just 4 games in, so relatively meaningless), by the end of February, they had inexorably sunk down to the relegation zone. They managed to drag themselves back up to safety, but it was hardly a "brilliant" season. And, of course, their second season was even worse. They started the season in or around the relegation zone, only briefly rising to 12th, and then, as per their first season, they slid inexorably back down to relegation. Only this time they couldn't pull out, and they spent the last 8 games firmly stuck at 23rd, having not won a game since early March. Had it not been for the car-crash that was Oxford City, they would have been bottom for the last 5 weeks. Again, not exactly a brilliant season. How does White's rhetoric line up with that reality - is even his self-belief and money just not enough to survive above NS level? And Boring Wood's last season was in some ways even worse. They spent almost the entire season in the bottom half of the table, then gradually fighting their way up to 14th by the end of February - but then crashing back down into relegation with a seven-game winless run. A better season that White's "brilliant" team, but, by BW's normal standards (3 play-off finishes in the previous 6 seasons) it was a disaster. So, again, if they're that good, how did they slip up so badly? Was that a one-off, or have the (financial?) wheels come off?

Both their season's were car crashes by National League standards.
But this season it will be by NLS standards and both teams will be stronger anyhow.
Any club that finishes above Dorking will win the league imo.
You can rubbish the 2 clubs if you like but I can see a whole load of milkshake coming your way.

Dorking, Maidstone and Boreham Wood are by products of the new NL professionalism.
In earlier times, any of them would have been nailed on top six National League.
Now yo-yo clubs who couldn’t keep up with the sugar daddy clubs.

Still a long time until a ball is kicked in anger and our supporters’ legendary defeatism already in full swing. Last time we won NS there were at least three teams that should have finished above us. Have a bit of belief people.

Incidently a guy I used to work with has just signed for an unpronounceable Polish div 2 side as a keeper and he is only about 5'7".Perhaps size is not an issue in Poland.

I think Polish div 2 is mainly div 1 reserve sides plus a few smaller clubs. The standard is probably EFL 2 or NL. My friend is also 36 so may not get a regular start anyway.

My brother is very much in to the lower leagues of the eastern european coutries so would be good to look out for your friend

Not "rubbishing" anyone, just laying out the facts. I fully expect both teams to give us a challenge, but neither of them are wonder clubs, or they wouldn't be where they are. Both were relegated after dire seasons - despite their money, self-belief, managers/owners, history, etc. Other clubs, like Fleet, York, Fylde and Woking had equally bad seasons, but they all managed to pull out of relegation. Dorking managed just two seasons in the NL, one bad and one awful (we did better in both our first two seasons). And BW have just had their worst season in 10 years.

Did anyone get anything worthwhile in terms of perceptions of the team at meet the team last night? Big George of course did all the talking - Craig looked pretty miserable throughout - although that may be his default look - and even loyal players like Reiss Raphe George Bivesh and Corn dog were quiet but there again big George is pretty dominant. He made it clear that any player who is not good or excellent we say goodbye to mid season or end of season. I’ve never played football at any level but if I had I’m not sure if I’d want to play for George the smiling tiger but if I was in a war I’d definitely want him next to me!
