I don't remember much entertainment when we were watching a clown every week.

We as fans are not privileged to know what the owners have told George, if he has been told that winning/promotion is a must then he is doing the only way he knows and results outweigh entertainment. This is fine as people watch a winning team but there will come a point when fans ask themselves is one or three points worth £17 entrance if you are just going to be bored. I cannot really comment on the last 2 seasons home games as health/wealth has permitted me only 3 games which were awful and to be honest those games made my decision to put health first and also made it easier nit ti miss them. Would i rather see us lose 5-4 than win 1-0 ? Well no but I wouldn't mind it every now and again to keep myself interested . Unfortunately my time at Watching the Stones seems to be drawing to a close and so it no longer matters so much to me and so I hope we win any which way we can for all of you that remain. Swordy why is your time of watching the Stones coming to an end?

I don't remember much entertainment when we were watching a clown every week. Absolutely, JDL, you're spot on. It's remarkable to consider the progress we've made since those dark days, considering the relatively short span of time. Under The Clown's leadership, I felt completely estranged from the club. The veil of secrecy and the complete detachment from the supporters made it feel soulless compared to Jay Saunders' days. Fortunately, George, both as a player and a manager, has reestablished that vital connection with the fans. Personally, if he believes deploying Covolan in midfield gives us the best shot at victory, I'm fully behind the team. Weston may have been a dire game, but in a promotion chase with 6 key players out, something has to give. George's achievements following our relegation from the National League have been nothing short of exceptional, especially when contrasted with the mid table mediocrity we enjoyed when John Still took over. 'Starting again' is never easy, and there is more to come from George Elokobi and his team.

speaking of injuries, who do we have out injured at the moment ? And do we know roughly how long they will be out ?

Sol Wanjau-Smith (Stevenage, Rumoured to train soon) Gavin Hoyte (Coventry) Sam Bone (Coventry) Raphe Brown (Pulled up, Chelmsford) Jacob Berkley-Agyepong (Hamstring, Dartford NLS) Liam Sole (Pulled up after taking his penalty at Dartford KSc) + George Fowler suspended for one more game.

I too felt that estrangement and Hak despite taking us up with a glorious promotion didn’t achieve what George has done in restoring a sense of trust and pride in the club again. He was a slow starter and I wasn’t convinced when he was given the full time job but I am now a complete convert and a believer! In George we trust. It’s big George we need to sign up for next year ahead of any player.

It’s big George we need to sign up for next year ahead of any player. To be fair to Hak, the state of the squad was abysmal. While he did assemble it, the sheer number of injuries was absurd, and it was evident that we were penniless given the poor quality of replacements. The signing of Zouma gave me those Wheeler-esque feelings again, with him arriving at The Gallagher with a tarnished reputation as Dagenham distanced themselves from the animal abuse chants. For me, this starkly contrasted with Maidstone United's ethos and commitment to standing on the right side of important issues. It was always going to be a formidable task for George to extract any semblance of performance from that team. The season was a write off. I also commend George for reassessing the pre-season training regimens. While players often hate the demands placed on them, George introduced flexibility, allowing for alternative activities. Chi Ezzenolim informed us that it offered a variety of options. As intended, this approach resulted in fewer injuries at the beginning of the season.

Don’t quite seem to have worked out editing embedded quotes. I think I was quoting OldBoy73 but somehow seem to have apples in there as well

Swordy why is your time of watching the Stones coming to an end? Quite simply my health is poor and it's becoming harder to motivate myself to attend games. The expense of football at non league level is becoming to much for me as I only exist on benefits and despite what many people think it a actually works out at less than minimum wage. I will still appear sporadically but quite possibly more at away games as I enjoy them better than home games. As I said my health is not good but I'll continue to battle away to keep the Reaper at bay.😁

If there is you, me and Frenchstone in one car it could be so hated that Putin might drone attack it🤣🤣
