Although modern bowls are criticised, I disagree about the atmosphere. Far more home decibels from Coventry fans than Ipswich and the noise doesn’t escape. Totally agree about owning your own ground and being in control of your destiny. Agreed the Coventry fans were louder than Ipswich but why were they at the same end as us? Also why couldn’t the Stones knock up at our end before the game? All seemed a bit petty to me. The Corporate comment I nadecwas t about the noise it was more about the stadium - the letters on the seats the hoardings the pictures and screens paid homage to bands that had played there and other events not football as it’s a multi purpose venue. I prefer a football ground to be a football ground - that’s why I follow non league. The Coventry city fc shop though was like a supermarket!

Generally, it was a fantastic experience to go to Ipswich and Coventry but I'm a non-league fan for a reason. I don't want to experience league football week in week out

Coventry City losing 2-0 to West Brom. My new favourite underachieving West Midlands football club.

Agreed the Coventry fans were louder than Ipswich but why were they at the same end as us? I know this answer because my nephew is a Coventry season ticket holder and stands/sits in that area. Basically section 14 & 15 (which are right next to the segregation) is where all the people who sing and want to make an atmosphere stand every game...my nephew got us tickets in section 13 for the Preston game, and I was impressed at just how loud it can get when people start singing.

Just checking the Aveley and Chelmsford games, and having my usual rant about playing on a Monday - when it occurred to me that, just 7 days ago, we were playing a 5th round Cup tie at Coventry!
It's already starting to feel like it was all a dream...

Did you notice from the Coventry programme that on one of the few occasions they made it to the 5th round, in 2008, they lost at home to West Brom 5 - 0? Sort of comforting, in a way.

It occurred to me last night that, unless you win the FA Cup, your cup run always ends in defeat.
Did this make our 5-0 loss any easier?
Not really.

I didn't see anyone selling programmes outside, and when I finally got into the stadium, the concourse was so packed you could hardly move.
Where were programmes on sale??

Looks like you can still buy a programme online. Or I have a spare if anyone wants it.

Well done Sky Blues. 3-2 win at Wolves. Just think, it could have been us. Or maybe not...

Pleased for Coventry. Part of me was with the Wolves connection. But man enough to wish our worthy victors well.

Got fitted with a 24 hour heart monitor today - which is fun, especially as I have to sleep with it. So, what's that got to do with football?, I hear you ask.
Nothing really, except that today's appointment was a change to the original booking - which was 3 weeks ago: 26/2 - the day of the Coventry City game...
Christ knows what the readings would have been like if I'd been wearing it that day!
Although the Ipswich game would have been even worse, as I'm also currently also being treated for hypertension, and there were several moments in that game, especially in the last 8 minutes, where I was genuinely worried. Somewhat ironically, one of the young lads behind us was acting oddly at one point and I asked him if he was OK, and he said he was worried about his blood pressure!
