It just strikes me that its more than a bit strange that we have not recruited a keeper based on his known competence and experience with other clubs.
Instead we are looking at a curious number of trialists that we may have barely seen or heard of beforehand.
Mind you the same applies to the confusing volume of un-named individuals who have turned out in different positions in most of the friendly matches.
I would like to believe this is a brilliant way of recruiting the new squad

Not this shit again? Fickle. Well if the club got their ass in to gear, or at least told us why the reason we havent signed a keeper and others over the last month , we wouldnt be having this debate. The club are a joke right now I’m not needy enough to demand a running commentary on who George is considering, talking to or negotiating with. That could even undermine contract talks or alternative prospective keepers being considered. When did football fans become so entitled?

If George would have said that we had offered a contract to Ryan Sandford but he has asked for time to consider the offer and now his agent has lined him up with several trials at a higher level. If he would have said that Sandford and his agent then said they wanted more time to consider it and now George left it a little late, having put most eggs in the Sandford basket, and we had to get in one one two keepers on trial from the 20 or so that had sent in their "highlights package" then it would have answered the question but probably would have led to more questions. It wouldn't have created a positive feeling about the process. I am not sure the constant want for more info from the club is always a good idea but the counter argument is that if you don't get some crumbs at least, then a tool like myself will "read between the lines" like the above, which seems plausible enough.

Over the last 3 years post Covid. Since social media became prevalent and the 24 hour Sky Sports News channel reported on things like "Ronaldo arrives for Man United training", "Fernandes follows Chelsea" on Twittergram etc

I saw almost all of Banks' home appearances for Leicester in the 60s. Plenty of big brutes up front in those days which is why keepers suffered a lot of physical injuries as they had little protection from referees. Jeff Astle, Bobby Smith, Andy Lochhead, Jo Jordan etc etc. Peter Shilton was also only 6'0" and Peter Bonetti was 5'10". Reiss Greenidge is 6'6" & will be partnering Fowler. Bone will be playing in midfield as he did on Tuesday before going off. The thing is, for every 2 goalkeepers you can name that were good and under 6ft, I could name 200 equally as good and over 6ft. No you couldn't! How about giving the poor sod a chance before you run your bollocks talking mouth off about him.

Surely the point is he has been appointed on the understanding he will be our back up keeper.
Everybody seems to accept that this is the case so what's the problem ?
Ah yes, we havn't got a first choice.

Talking of good keepers that are not tall, bartez was under 6ft, Matt Ryan 6ft just a few to mention, so if you're good enough you're good enough So Barthez and Bonetti are on the list of top keepers under 6ft. Are there many more ? just so I can work out the statistics. for example, 198 top keepers being over 6ft would mean 1% under 6ft. Why go for one of the under 6ft guys ? Then add to that Earle has been told he is number 2, we are now happy to line up with a short No.2 ? ] It seems the club have fucked up yet again. Casillas of Spain. You now need to name 200 keepers who have kept over 100 clean sheets at international level. Over to you...

Or we just think 'its ok, everything is going according to plan' You may feel the need to be very concerned without seeing Harley play but personally i think the time tp be concerned is when the league season starts. Also a lot of people want to criticise your Bivesh who i thought did a good job last season playing in a team which had been struggling. One minute some of you are saying give the youngsters a go and the next saying they are not good enough. I think our manager (who has played in the premier league) knows more about football than virtually all of us on the forum and if he thinks the youngsters are good enough thats ok by me.

Biv will make a good bench player and thats about it. Like Earle. And dont forget Elokobi has won the same amount of league matches as a Manager as everyone on this forum and he has lost many many more than everyone on this forum. just saying.
