Even more impressive considering we started that first season with the line up below. Some great names in there, but at by my count, 8 or 9 of them had never played at the top end of National League football or above. At a quick scan, 8 or 9 of our starting line up HAD played at this level or above for our first game of this season. Unreal. Lee Worgan Callum Driver Kevin Lokko Dan Sweeney Jack Paxman Clovis Kamdjo Vas Karagiannis James Rogers Anthony Acheampong Alex Flisher Dumebi Dumaka Tom Mills Ben Greenhalgh Did Clovis Kamjo not play against us (and score) rather than for us in that first game? He played for York He didn't sign for Maidstone till 3 years later en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clovis_Kamdjo

I can't remember actually, you may very well be right there. Trying to rack my brain who I'm missing from the squad - Stuart Lewis, perhaps? Kamjo played for Crystal Palace U23s against us in a friendly I think. Can't remember if he scored. I think that was Andre Coker? Michael Phillips was part of the Under 23s around that time but didn't play against us as he was with the 1st team squad that flew out to the Far East a few day's later.

dear are we talking about players I did not rate at all, Klovis Kamdjo (Who played against us for York), Andre Coker, Michael Phillips.
Dumaka did not move up to the NL with us from what I remember, we had Loza, Yemi Odabade and Piggot (Oh and Jack Richards, I am sure he scored a cracker against someone Wrexham?)
Who remembers from the 2016/2017 season Liam Enver-Marum, and Nathan Mavila
Surprised people didn't mention that we also had Seth Twumasi (who was always popular with our fans), Magnus Okuonghue and Jamie Coyle.

I believe Vas went abroad for a couple of seasons and ended up in French non league for a while - not sure if he's still playing. Dumaka went to Dulwich and then it looks like he's possibly retired - he looks like he's done well in business so may have not had time for football even part time. He's also currently Director of Football at Dulwich. I think Tom Mills still plays but absolutely no idea where?

Just read Hak's article about 'stop moaning' and declaring that player recruitment can be hit and miss. Agree that we don't want to hear any moaning on match day. But social media, that's different, you have to take the take the rough with the smooth. After a load of matches without a win, don't expect too many plaudits. Also, I'm not sure that any of the summer recruitment can be judged a hit. Maybe I've missed something. Hak is talking about moving on some players to free up some funds which is fair enough. Hopefully he will discover a couple of good players. Last season Hak had the happy knack of turning water into wine. We need him to do it again.
