Judging by the Folkestone reaction, anything other than an easy 5-0 victory will be met with howls of derision.
If the zombie season was anything to go by, they finished one point above us having played five more games.
I’m predicting a crowd of 1800 with 18 masks.

I will be going but I am not holding my breath for a victory. The Folkestone performance has me a little worried but it was not our full first team and so can be discounted as a result. I would hope the players would be more up for it when points are involved and who knows what Hemel Hempstead are like ,they could also be struggling to get ready. My first thoughts are we will lose based on Saturdays shambles ,I will take an opening day point but 3 points would be a massive boost for a team who already look glum. Crowdwise if it's raining then around 16/1700 if the sun is shining then 2000+ .

Fingers crossed Saturday was a crap dress rehearsal before a great show.
I’ll be there (obvs) but remember Hemel are one of the big spenders in our division and have gone all out for promotion.

I think 1600 - 2000 attendance is a bit ott. Covid worries, modest season ticket sales, school holidays and a disrupted pre season campaign all point to a lower figure. Try 1400 to 1800 tops. Lack of strikers and defensive frailties dont help. Sword is a shade optimistic imo

Yep. A couple of local Blackpool fans will be there after a pint or two in The Rifle Volunteers. Assume it's POTG.

Anyone else really excited by that match day feeling this morning? To be able to pop into town, have a beer and lunch, then stroll over to watch a game without having to wear a damned mask or signing in. Just hope the result matches the expectations.

Yep, starting to get excited. I will hit the Stag at around 13.00 and the first beer will disappear within seconds. Looking forward to my chips, mushy peas and gravy and listening to the Genco singing, I'll even forgive the drummer for making a racket. The only downside is I still think we'll get beat but hey i am willing to be proved wrong .

Been buzzing for this all week. At last a proper Saturday to look forward to. And let's be honest, even if we lose, it's still part of that real match day feeling for a football fan. Glad I'm not an Arsenal fan though. A side with Champions League ambitions surely has to beat the newly promoted sides.
