I am really glad we are being cautious in the transfer market as the coming season will be very difficult for clubs. This was Websfleets 16th signing and I wonder how long they can keep this spending spree up?

Referring to gromleys post up thread:
But unless you are earning enough to cover the amortisation of the 3G pitch, when time comes around to replace the pitch, there won't be existing funds so to do. The pitch is in the books @ £ 225 K, and written off over 5 years, that's a charge of £ 45 K a year. Unless EBITDA amounts to > £ 45 K a year, you are effectively running at a loss. Amounts owed to T & O as at 30.06.2019 had increased by £ 112 K to £ 3,020 K **, enough already you might say.
** my interpretation of filed figures...

Ebbsfleet spend £3.5 million a year on an income of £1 million a year. I don’t even want to try and pretend we can compete with that. Let them buy the league. I’ll wait a couple more years and do it the old fashioned way, on earned income and being the kind of solvent club that pays it way, and honest players want to sign for. Let them pretend spending millions in the NLS is some kind of achievement.

Good point porky - I had overlooked that the pitch is "maintenance capex". So we were still a little short of sustainable. We should probably stop this now. (People might start to talk)

Is this the Maidstone forum or is this arsenal fan TV?? Wah wah wah they signed someone we haven't, we should be spending money we don't have and put the club into jeopardy. Comes to something when sword is making the more sensible post in a thread (sorry swordy but it's true). Ebbsfleet who have for two consecutive years shown huge loses continue to sign players that we cannot afford, we have a larger fanbase and they can still pay more than we offer, shows that they really don't give two hoots about the longevity if the club. I think the confirmation that our season will start early oct will be announced soon so i woukd kind if guess that pre season would start September with a few behind closed doors friendlies against other nls or nl teams. There is still time for us to bring in players, I'm guessing that we have been close to signing a couple but then they were offered better wages elsewhere, it happens. I'd rather that we survive out of this covid mess with a team still to support and no crippling debts, if that means mid table mediocrity then so be it, we need to survive especially with the reduced number of fans which will hurt us more than most in this league. You have single handedly shattered my reputation for talking complete bollocks, I am devastated😥

Absolutely GUTTED BJT is at the Fleet. We just couldnt afford him.
I know Daveu refuses to believe it, but we have really been caught cold staying FT training evenings to keep George etc and limited to 25%.
With hindsight we needed to go PT, face losing the Georges, Noahs and Justins, and take the Worgs and those wanting to train evenings.
Too late now, and we are out of money, having to make ends meet on low crowds. If and when the season does start, unless we have some Under 23 wonder boys, or our opponents struggle in this new world worse than us, we will be mid table at best and do well to survive financially and to be able to keep our high earners for the whole season - we nay have to ditch them mid season to balance the books.

Stop trying to make out you know what you're talking about. Oliver, Terry and Bill clearly know what they're doing far more than you, and fortunately it's them, not you, who are making the decisions.

Tsssk Davy. You are brainwashed by years of plastic passion into believing lies. If only you would open your mind and have the brain to understand stuff!
