Personally I for one would expect the club to do all it can to hang on to it,s better players if it really wants to reach at least the play offs, or are we going to become just another selling club without any real ambitions.

We're Maidstone United, mate. We are a selling club. Every club in the world bar Barcelona and Real Madrid is a selling club . Say we get offered £150,000 for Saidou then we should take it without a moments hesitation. Stopping a young lad from joining a championship club isn't how you get into the play offs, it just potentially harms his very short career. Shouldn't be stopping players from going as high as they can as it'll just put off talented young players from joining in the future.

If DaveU and nick are right and somebody is rich enough to stump up 100k then the club will bite their hand off ,ambition or not.

My opinion (for what that's worth): if we've got a young-ish player who's doing well and seems to have good prospects, then if a club a couple of levels higher comes in for him, then we give them the opportunity to improve themselves, give them our blessing, and get over it. What might Nathan Paul gone on to achieve without the trouble he encountered?
We've had plenty of others who could've plied their trade at higher levels, and to deny them the opportunity, or be resentful that they've got the chance, seems a little bit disloyal ourselves. Don't we want the best for our friends?

Where do you lot think lower league clubs are gonna get the silly amounts you are quoting. Many of them would want a whole new squad for 150k not one player.

Sadly I don't think Saidou has much longer with the Stones. If his injury hadn't kicked in he would he would have been gone by now. Just needs a couple of goodish performances now and a decent offer in 6 figures 😂😂😂

Most league 1 clubs would bite your hand of at the chance of signing a decent player for 100k, and if they don't then we don't sell him. Simples!

Google Championship transfers and you'll see the sort of money being spent.

Even if we get offered £50,000, which would be an average return, I think we’d be churlish to turn it down.
The lads played his socks off, admittedly over a short period, so who are we to hold him back?

And most league one clubs are in much the same financial situation as Bury. Is one player worth the death of a club. I really do hope you are right from a selfish Stones point of view but I just cannot see it.

I know all the arguments and I can see the logic of letting our good players go.
But it still pissed me off!
You watch them develop into good players, you start to anticipate going to games and seeing some real talent, you start dreaming of a really good season...
Then they f**k off.
I like SK and I wish him all success, but I want to see talent at JWW, not just have the 'satisfaction' of knowing we've developed it for someone else.

I have no qualms with any player improving themselves an moving upwards but I do have a problem with good players joining lesser clubs for more money.

Just read somewhere that Edward's has gone to Biggleswade town, any truth in that? Have checked their twitter and you are right. Re your comment on MCClure, maybe he was offered a lesser deal by us than he has been on?
