Jake Embery scores a brace for Leatherhead last night in their 2--1 away win at Wingate & Finchley And fractured his ankle this weekend. How unlucky is this boy? He seems to be turning into a tragic mix of a Jack Richards benchwarmer and a Flish sicknote...……...poor lad.

With Edwards gone and Embry probably gone for the season, or at least most of the business end of it, I’m sure we can expect quite a few new faces this week, hopefully....

On squad chat just going thru some old programmers and amused to see one Clovis Kamdjo at No 4 for York City against us in August 2016, some iffy player called Allen at 7 for Bromley in October 2017 all in National League when we also had to contend with Orients George Elokobi in December that year.
Also I got THE Simon Walton at 8 for Stevenage in 2014 in one of the greatest FA cup wins ever- did he play?
Was it him Frannie beat to head the winner?

We still had the old stand then! We have done well.

Yes we have, just seems a pity that Clovis is tracking back in his career. Presumably he has not yet movod on despite being transferred listed weeks ago.

I remember him gigging at the half-time slot and was cut off mid-song due to the 2nd half starting. Must have been early to mid 70s but cannot remember who our opponents were.

So it looks on the cards that the club will sign a couple of new players over the next 10 days or so. But where do we need strengthening most ? Keeper position is strong with 2 good uns. Down to just 2 centre backs who are both great, but with Pennell gone and Knight transfer listed, we seem very light in back-up unless Marshall can truly perform in that role. Totally happy at full back but still question marks for me over the strength of centre midfield. Clovis transfer listed and is Marshall good enough ? Jury still out. Temelci looks just about good enough but not sure he's in a proper contract. Khan and Corne are excellent players but when will Sam ever be fit ? Maybe we need another midfielder, oozing class and aggression. Wide players we are good with Iffy and Justin. Strikers are good if only they could stay fit but there's the rub. Akanbi is proven quality now but Olutade has it all to do. Hopefully he can do the business and soon but it's a big ask. With Embery out on loan and injured, having lost 2 strikers in the past week, presumably we are looking for a newbie to add to the mix.

Ideally I would like 2 quality midfielders and with the pitches, especially away ,likely to be pretty heavy over the next 2 months a extra striker as Akanbi cannot do it all on his own and Olutade just isnt trusted by JS2&HH.

How do you know he isn't trusted. Could hardly expect to come straight back in on his return. Will almost certainly get his chance with McClure gone, and no doubt people will be on his back if he doesn't hit the ground running, but he will surely need time to adjust to this level having spent the last few months in the Isthmian Premier.
