I used to do the overnight coaches to London Victoria, via numerous northern towns. Sometimes working the next day. It's not something for older bodies to even contemplate. I have never tried the overnight National Express coaches. Please explain the pitfallls. Are they not comfortable or is the clientele a bit iffy?

They are long journeys but if you are lucky to have 2 seats to yourself they are bearable but you have to sit next to someone it can get very uncomfortable.

Watching a game these days, I find the need to bend my knees and move around once in a while. The thought of sitting completely still for eight hours in a cramped seat would fill me with dread.

So we’re not a complete live TV game. Just have to wait now to see if it’s Saturday or Sunday.

Do we know how much we will get for being on red button Sunday? Not enough to pay for the hassle it would cause everyone!

Here's a question. Blackpool currently 8th in L1. Not sure how many places that is above us, but were we to beat them, would that be a club record and indeed what is that currently in the FA cup?

So we’re not a complete live TV game. Just have to wait now to see if it’s Saturday or Sunday. There's also a chance we could be chosen as one of the 3 games that are broadcast internationally. This past Sunday, Chippenham/Northampton, Orient/Maldon & Barnet/Fleetwood were all shown live. Also I know in the past our FA Cup game against Yeovil was broadcast worldwide.....so it could happen with this game. Just some of the countries who got to experience the Chippenham game

So that's 3 divisions between us and our opponents. And, unless against 'League' opposition, would have to be after the football pyramid had been formed to be able to measure the places across leagues between non-league opponents.
Can't recall us (that's the cowards way of covering myself if I'm wrong) that we've ever beaten, what would now be called a premier league or championship side.
In our previous incarnation I think we only beat league opposition when we were in the equivalent of the National League (Alliance or Conference) (and we never did that as the bottom side in the league) so 71 places must beat any old record.
In our new incarnation our best effort against League opposition was Stevenage whilst we were in the Isthmian Premier, which the BBC reported as 60 places.
The only possibility of that being bettered was against non-league opposition in our earlier 'wilderness years' and there are a number of people out there far better placed to know that than I am.

I believe (and the key word here is believe) that when we were in the Kent League we beat Redbridge in the FA Cup who were at the time 3 divisions higher.

That would have been 2 goals from Simon Austin named a FA player of the round and Ryan Royston badly crocked! (I believe)
