Surely the aim is to go as far as possible not do a tour of England. There is the Trophy for that. If we make it to the Second Round we might earn enough to finally build the river side stand or sign some top rate players to drive us up the table. This is a fantastic draw.. could have been boreham wood away. Some people seem more interested in ground hopping than actually supporting the team. Give me a lower club at home every time. Save the away days for the bigger clubs if we get that far.

I know 80% of fans want a home game because they cannot be bothered to get off of their fat arses and travel to away games but there are 20% of us that would like to broaden our horizons somewhat and I would rather do it on a Saturday afternoon than a shock Tuesday night replay though I have already checked and I can do it on a Tuesday by train should we f**k it up at our precious Gallagher stadium

I can't believe anyone seriously thinks that is anything other than a brilliant draw for us. Best chance of making the first round (again), getting the prize money and, playing at home, we'll get a bigger gate than away, so more money from the 50% of receipts (plus the revenues people often forget, like programme, shop and beer sales). You might say the cup isn't all about money, well for me it probably is in the qualifying rounds. You can get into the whole 'romance' thing if we reach the first round and draw a league side - up to that point we just want to win games and get in the cash the club needs.

So was your point about supporting the team while ground hopping. It's just different wants according to lifestyle. If we make it to the first round that could bring in the likes of Sunderland couldn't it?

Some of us dear David have the luxury of free time due to a life changing disability, that won't stop me an my son from travelling across the country following the stones, unlike some fans who seem to post about how many games they miss, I personally like away days, but for the benefit of the club's finances a home tie in the cup against lower ranked clubs is far better until the bigger clubs enter the draws.

Well the luck seems to be with the Stones so far and long may it continue. It should be an easy match for us. Kings Langley could only manage a 3-1 win against Hitchin who were rubbish when then played us.

I'll be happy if we keep getting the lowest ranked sides at home, until it is us, then the biggest side left in the draw, such as Man Utd, so we can complete all four sides of the ground on the proceeds.

I’m just happy to have a good chance of getting in the first round! And as for some thinking this is an “easy” tie, on paper it is but as demonstrated on Sat easy is far from reality

This is a fantastic draw.. could have been boreham wood away. I don't think you'll find anyone saying progression in the cup isn't key? I don't think that's the point. I don't live in Maidstone, and Kings Langley would be easier for me to get to ironically. Point in fact is, those of us who saw us narrowly lose to Yeovil a few years back at home probably wouldn't take that game over the 0-0 draw away at Stevenage or even the 4-1 loss at Milton Keynes (that first half goal felt like a win for everyone there). They say 'the magic of the cup' because of days like that. There's something special about away days out of your own league, and that's why I was hoping for a visit somewhere. Either way, fingers crossed we beat Kings Langley, and I get my little trip to a nice little town for a few beers, a walk around a new city / town / hamlet and to watch a few hundred / thousand Stones fans away, making a lot of noise. Lovely.

Let's not forget that we have to beat Kings Langley first.

I will be happy with the lowest ranked club, at home, in each round, until that club is Stones. Then we want the other MUFC away. Currently, they must at least good for a draw, to bring back to the Gallagher, TV money and all!

Lovely. There are probably many words to describe watching Stones fans but I'm reasonably confident that "lovely" wouldn't be near the top of most people's list.
