So, we actually score from a corner and 2-0 at half time. Nice present returning from holiday to the shambles that is Stansted.

Superb for about 15 minutes. 2-0 up and playing some nice football. Don't know what happened after that. We just stopped playing football and started hoofing it long. Frustrating to watch and presumably to play in. First goal was decent from the corner, although marking non existent. Second was a gift. Didn't improve after the break and the midfield went AWOL for their goal although it was a cracking shot. They then gifted us a third with some calamitous defending, and fourth from distance took an outrageous bounce to outwit the keeper who had it covered. Overall a disappointing performance but at least we got the job done.

Agree the ball seemed to do something weird for our fourth - perhaps had some spin on it because otherwise 3G should always give a ‘real’ bounce surely ?? We played well in patches, against very limited opponents who gifted us two if not three goals in all honesty. Midfield still worries me though, we didn’t dominate there by any stretch of the imagination and actually allowed them to have too much possession in there.

Very odd game, more like a friendly - start well, get comfortably ahead, settle back, get a bit of a shock when they score and start looking like they can play, eventually step up gear and finish the game off.
Impressive in patches, but overall quite glad their top striker was out injured. Nice sitting in the sun eating chips, though.
My squad list turned out to have one mistake (so far) - Iffy Allen should have been at 17. Here's the updated version:
1 Jake Cole 2 Gavin Hoyte 3 Luke Pennell 4 Clovis Kamdjo 5 Lewis Knight 6 George Elokobi 7 Nana Kyei 8 Sam Corne 9 Jonny Edwards 10 Ibby Akanbi 11 Justin Amaluzor 12 Noah Chesmain 14 Jake Embery 15 Dan Wishart 16 Chris Lewington 17 Iffy allen 18 Saidou Khan 19 Ryan Johnson 20 Matt McClure ? Jacob Gilbert ? Cameron Williams ? Danny Divine (on loan) ? Ibrahim Olutade (on loan)

Odd moment with their final sub - their no 3 was signalling to come off (prolems with his knee of calf?) but the bench didn't notice, as he was on the other side of the pitch. They made their last two subs, but didn't include him. Then, just in time, they notice he's gone down, and changed the final sub.
As far as I could see, their third sub hadn't actually come onto the pitch at the time, so they were able to make the switch, but if he had crossed the line, presumably would that have been it - they'd have had to carry on with a injured player or go down to 10 men?

Didn't expect a top performance today so not disappointed. Started really well and entertaining enough at times but plenty of casual play on view too. 4-1 is a very acceptable scoreline but in truth some of the goals were gifts and not likely to be repeated at National South level. Just felt that our midfield should have been more dominant against players from a lower league.

Apart from that a good summary. Has to be noted also that their coach spent half the match calling several of his own players f__king useless. Must be great to have such encouragement.

Stop blaiming the bounce. The ball is allowed to bounce. It was just very poor goalkeeping.

The ball took a weird bounce due to the way Noah Hit it and the trajectory, it would have been an odd bounce on a grass pitch as well.
