For reasons I don't really understand, I'm still not convinced of HH. But there's no arguing with the rersults and the way the team plays, and that can't all be down to JS2.
Perhaps it just takes a while to recover your trust after something like Clowngate?

Perhaps you are an Essex-phobe. Which would be quite understandable....

Most of us expect football managers to be loud characters and i just don't think hakans personality fits this stereo type. We've got Still, Ryan Gordon and big George who are all outgoing personalities that we can relate to, as they are comfortable going over talking to fans and engaging with people but if you have a chat with hakan he comes across much better than his post game interviews.

One way he is quieter is that he doesn't publicly talk too much about tactics, playing systems, formations etc.. instead just refers to getting the 'detail' right.
IMHO this is a good thing as although a manager might want to defend themselves to fans or owners sometimes, by giving away to much you can sometimes be giving your opponents an advantage. This is something I thought both the clown and Jay were both guilty of at times.

Don’t know. Spoke to Hal at Hungerford. E ain’t no shrinking violet Hak even I didn't warm to Hak as his track record didn't seem that brilliant and he seemed so miserable but this years squad and performance give him credit, even though we will never know how much of that is him and how much is JS2, but one things for sure, this management team has to stay exactly as it is until the end of this year at least!

So you think Hakan and John deserve a few more weeks before the fateful "We have every confidence" statement from the owners ? Strange really, everybody I speak to seems happy enough. Long may they reign !

Long may they reign ! Huh? I don't think that's what this thread is suggesting at all Nick! My read is thats its very supportive of Hak and John, no? An owners "We have every confidence" statement? I think I need to order you your own panic button, Nick! Long may they reign, indeed.

"Long may they reign, until the end of the year at least" is not exactly an unqualified endorsement. If ever I want to borrow the oldboy panic button I will let you know (I expect you keep it somewhere handy)

Got it Nick - are you expecting the current Management team to be a Fergie like dynasty forever at JWW until you and I hand in our heavenly season tickets at the pearly gates? I doubt it, as JS2 has already previously said he'll handover at season end, and he isn't getting any younger! BTW His age is just fine by me (especially as Im an Old Boy), and I'd be happy for him to carry on for years at the Stones, but I'm not sure that will happen, as he has already retired once. Nick - In this day and age, long may they reign until the end of the season IS a big unqualified endorsement! Stop panicking! Personally, I think Big George should be groomed as next Manager at some point, but yes, for this season we must definitely not rock any boats!

JS2 has been on record in a recent interview of saying that he isn't about quick fixes. He (and Hak) have done a great job of putting in the building blocks of a developing squad. For this reason I hope they both hang around as long as possible and see the job thru. Having said that I would totally understand if for health or personal reasons John wanted to hand over the reins fully at some point, I know I'm not planning on working into my seventies, if I get there.

Perhaps if you'd said until the end of the season instead of the end of the year you wouldn't have left yourself wide open to a windup.
