Best game I have seen at the Gallagher for a while. We were the best team by a mile. Did not deserve to lose that. Never looked like a penalty from my position and that ruined it as H&W were not in the game at all. The whole team were brilliant and if we play like that most weeks then I can see us finishing in the top 3. Was a penalty. The reaction of Nana and the other confirm that. Klovis and Khan were immense today but I can’t remember a Maidstone side winning so many 50:50s and even 40:60s than we did today. The best thing about this side, as I see it, is that it’s a struggle to name MOTM over and over again. Seen the screen shot and was a penalty. I was in the Genco end so was hoping more than anything. Agree Clovis and Khan were brilliant and won everything and dictated the midfield. Havent been able to say that for a while. Everyone was immense today so tough to name a MOM. 2 good home performances in a row. This is unheard of.

Good team performance, best that I have seen at home this year, missed Chelmsford. Thought Clovis had a brilliant game, never backs out of anything. Knight impressed me too. My only doubt is about Nana, I know the management rate him but he just does not do enough for me, you cannot doubt John Still's eye for a player, so I hope that he comes good.

From behind the goal there was clear daylight between foul and penalty box si no penalty in my book. I was just behind you sword and think it was on the line so a penalty in this day and age.

StonesTV's post on twitter confirms it was a couple of feet inside the box so a definite penalty.

What a game for my first this season!
I've still no idea who most of them are (why have squad numbers and then not print them in the programme??), but I didn't see any not putting a shift in, and the standard overall and individually was so much higher than anything I can remember last season. It was just a joy to watch. Brilliant stuff.
And we deserved to win. Practically all they had was a pen and fatty Kedwell's inevitable moment, I can only remember Cole making one really decent save, whereas we should have had two or three more, but for bad luck and amazing goalkeeping. We bossed the game almost all the 90 minutes (possibly excluding the last two or thrree in the first half!). If that's how we play against the second-best team in the league, I can't see a good play-off place being any problem.
But the thing that imprseed me most, and that has been missing at JWW for ages, was the work rate and the way they played as a team. Going to be a cracking season!
The only thing that bugged me was the big huddle at the end - what's all that about? Most of the fans waiting to applaud the players off at the end, gave up and wandered off. Showing your appreciation after a good game is part of the game, and an essential part of the team/fans bonding. By all means have a quick cuddle after the game, but don't spend ten minutes over it! What was said then could just as easily have been said in the changing rooms.

One other thing - stood next to a H&W fan at my half-time pee and he was moaning about the segregation arrangements - we could come into their bit, but they couldn't come into hours. I thought he had a fair point - athough I think what pissed him off most was the suspicion that the bar facilities were much better for the home fans than whatever lurks behind the EE!
If you're going to have 'segregation' officially, but not unofficially, then it should be fair to both sets of fans. Not when you got pissed up thugs looking for a fight, obviously, but the sort of fans a team like H&W brought along aren't going to cause any bother wandering up our end to get a hot dog and a pint.
He also had a right moan about some incident he said happened last year, where one of their commentators was ejected (or something like that) and then told he wouldn't be let back in this year. Can anyone throw any light on this?

Another weird fixture co incidence, yesterday's attendance 1,903, four years ago, NL South, Saturday 12th September 2015 Home to Havant, attendance 2,054. So even with the international break and a good turn out from Havant away yesterday, we are still down slightly on spectators. Spread the word people, this years team are seriously worth watching !

Likewise found the low gate strange. Decent weather, international break for higher leagues, 4-1 win previous home game - expected 2000+. Big crowds for some of the WSL opening matches. Is this where the non- affiliated fans went, or is football not as attractive to the casual supporter nowadays?

Even allowing for non-attending season ticket holders last year, it's strange that more people were willing to watch last season's dross than exciting winning football one level lower. Are the main stand gaps still on holiday? Or are they standing on the Riverside to protect their light-sensitive eyes?

I think the crowds are similar to the last time we were in NLS.. bound to drop when you drop a league. If we are near the top come xmas we will see the fair weather fans return.
Btw..why didnt we play Wish in midfield last season!!!!!

Btw..why didnt we play Wish in midfield last season!!!!! Yes I agree, I think the difference between NLS and NL is about 400 - 500 on the gate. If we were to go straight back up we'd soon be back to where we were with attendances. The higher level you play, the more local people will turn out to watch even if they're not really Stones fans as such, just because it's a better standard of football.

Btw..why didnt we play Wish in midfield last season!!!!! You'll all have seen this on the club site of course, but interesting that MUFC chose Wish to feature in the first of these ' exclusives ': www.maidstoneunited.co.uk/2019/09/vanarama-team-mates-dan-wishart/Seems a good lad at ease with his situation & team mates. Don't listen to those pesky National League offers when they come along Dan !

Penalty ? Changed it hammerstone. If you don’t like it you could always fcuk back over to Ruislup. Yes your observation is correct. After the penalty our heads dropped, and it was a cardinal sin having no player mark Kedwell.
If you dont like it, dignitas has spaces.
I don’t get it

Need to factor in fewer away fans for most clubs than in the National League. Segregation is going to look pointless for some games, where they probably won't even open up the away bar. I hope common sense prevails and the gates are opened for low risk games with a couple of dozen harmless away fans.

Can anyone throw any light on this? No idea re the commentator thing, but the allowing home fans into the away end for food/toilet facilities is decided on a game to game basis, depending on the risk. It’s a nice thing to do for the home fans and saves them having to walk along the length of the main stand.
