Hoping to make a family weekend out of this. Anyone got any recommendations re hotels, etc?
We'll be doing this on a pretty tight budget, so nothing fancy. Also, Mrs JDL is under the impression that I'm taking her to see Bath, and the game is just a lucky coincidence, so I need to keep this impression up - so no hotels too close to the ground please...

If we were struggling towards the bottom of the table it could of been a case of Bath v Shower. But happily there’s no need for silly gags like that as we’re looking better game by game and seemingly on the up 👍 Plenty of decent hotels in Bath though JDL, with good places to eat and sampl3 some alcohol !! A great weekend there

If you look at Premier Inn or Travelodge sites they have good looking hotels within 1.5 miles of the ground. These will be, I think, in the centre of Bath, so great for your scheme of deception, although may be a tad pricey. Some recommended pubs nearer to the ground may have accommodation: www.theroyaloakbath.co.uk/home.phpwhatpub.com/pubs/BAT/45/golden-fleece-bathBut these could be a bit rough ?

We're renting a cottage for the weekend this time, but we often use premier inns, and there's sure to be at least one in the vicinity. Not too pricey and they do a very decent buffet style breakfast, and evening meals as well.

I always use booking.com, Premier Inns are ok but very 'samey' We often have the dog with us for weekends away and they have a filter that helps Nothing for me beats a country pub, dog friendly with good beer, they haven't let me down yet!

The Royal Oak is the best real ale pub close to the ground, about a ten minute walk towards the city centre. It was perfectly friendly and welcoming visiting with Dulwich last season, plenty of supporters of both clubs in there. It's not a cheap city for accommodation, probably best to start looking now and book something that can be cancelled if you find a better option closer to the date. University accommodation was by far the cheapest but that was in August, I don't suppose it's available in October.

How far is their ground from bath city centre? Looking to also book a hote and stay centrally but wanted to know if it’s easy commuting distance with local busses etc

It looks walkable on Google maps - 2km or a bit more? Mostly main road though, so perhaps not much fun.
From the satellite view and photos, it looks like a decent old-school non-league ground, with a fair bit of cover if the weather is shitty.

There's Travelodge and premier inn, in Bath city centre and at reasonable rates as well.

Bath city is home to a lot of memories old and new and the new owners have massive re -building plans for the stadium but whether they have started I am not sure.

I'm hoping to meet up with an old Ulcombe school mate for this one, he lives that way. Not seen him since 1977! Two of his cousins played for our reserves a decade or so ago (Pearce)...

Don't know why I never went there, I went to places much further away, and we were in the same league for much of the 80s. Just never seemed like one of those teams you went to see, I guess - although they were usually a top-half of the table side. I remember Bristol Rovers playing there for a few years back in the 80s and 90s. Anyone remember Team Bath?
