I'll be in Bulgaria. Mrs JDL decided we should have a 'proper' holiday this year, 5 weeks in Hungary not being enough, apparently.
So I'm sitting in Budapest departure lounge, waiting to board a Bulgaria Airlines plane. Did anyone know there WAS even a Bulgaria Airlines??
For all those who stress so much about my posts, this could be your lucky day...

Yeah Bulgaria airways didn't they have 2 planes and one of them crashed not long ago killing all 237 passengers and crew. The black box said the plane was on it's way to Sofia but the dyslexic pilot crashed into a mountain near Soham which is a feat in itself as Soham is flatter than a plaice that's been steam rollered

Having survived Air Bulgaria (to give it its proper name - why don't they just call it BulgAir?) I am now feeling ridiculously positive.
So a hard-fought/lucky draw on Saturday, and then a first home win on the Monday, with 2,000+ happy Stones in attendance.
9 points in the bag, top half of the table!
What could possibly go wrong?
Well, we've still got to fly back...

Not sure about that - we've got wi-fi here, and I don't think they have that where I may end up if we fly back...

I will be sleeping this one out, I don't have the correct passport and I am not inoculated. So with a bit of luck a score draw, any more points will be a bonus

For all those who stress so much about my posts, this could be your lucky day... Didn't it use to be Balkan Airlines? Made me look up 'Balkan', as I thought it only meant the ex-Yogoslavian countries. Turns out it's the 'peninsula' below Hungary and Romania, including Bulgaria - even including Greece, according to some (but, I suspect, not the Greeks). And you are right! From the number of Bulgarian Air planes I saw with 'charter' written on the side, I thought it was just a charter operation with a fancy name, but it turns out to be the state/flag carrier for Bulgaria (although not actually state owned). The old Balkan Airlines was very successful in Soviet times, but failed to cope with the transformation into a commercial operation post-1990, and eventually went bust in 2002. Bulgarian Air is its legal successor. Funny what you learn on here sometimes. Now back to the pool...

Isn't the cheapo company Wizzair Bulgarian? Hungarian - head office in Budapest - which could be confused with Bulgaria

Isn't the cheapo company Wizzair Bulgarian? It's officially Hungarian and Slovakian, but it seems to be entirely Hungarian in reality. It's ok - we fly on it quite often, pretty much the same as EJ, just with different bloody luggage sizes and weights!! (Which is fun if you fly out on one and back on the other...) They actually fly directly to where we live (Debrecen), but only at ridiculous times, and only from Luton. I absolutely HATE bloody Luton.

While the airplane flights of plastic defectors is very interesting, how many people do we think are likely to turn up at Canvey
