Poor first half hour but from then on it was all us. Their penalty box was like the Alamo second half, four or five efforts cleared off the line, one stonewall penalty not given and another possible as well. You normally expect to get at least one of the two. McClure was excellent, Akanbi also made a big difference when he came on. Kahn was awful, Kiei not much better. Team that finished the game looks like our strongest lineup, especially with Amaloza to come back in. According to Hakan his substitution was tactical rather than a reoccurrence of the injury. I think that's a fair assessment of the game, although I don't agree about the penalties. The shout in the first half definitely wasn't one, I had an excellent view of that from my position on the rail. The second one was a lot further away but it looked like ball to hand - maybe the video will prove me wrong. I actually thought Slough played okay, they started brightly and didn't look like a team that has been struggling. In the end we were probably a little unlucky not to nick the extra points. It was nice to see McLure do so well after the cynicism on here about his signing. He took his goal really well, it was a very tight angle and many league strikers would have struggled to net that from his position. Although the goal was a gift after the keeper got into a mess, he deserved it because he was a constant threat. No doubt the doom merchants will say it was awful because we failed to beat the bottom side but it was actually quite an entertaining game and there were some positives. Did you miss Ibby getting wrested in their box? Definite penalty. The handball, I've seen them given. Didn't really see one in the first half so can't comment on that. Also, ball to hand is no longer relevant if it blocks a shot on goal.

I don't understand some of the negitivity on here, did you miss last season? Some people seem to have high expectations of what will happen to the club this season.

Yea, we have a few supporters on this forum who stamp their feet and want everything now. But in fairness they are the 'predictables', individuals who know so much better than our cluless management team who are apparently past it and have so little awareness of modern day non league football. Terry and Oliver must be asking themselves how they managed to miss out on such undiscovered talent that is so clearly visible on this forum.

I’ve said it before, but roughly 50% of signings work out well. So with 90% of players being new we ain’t doing too bad with the likes of Pennell and Clovis looking poor with others not being consistent so far! We have over 50% of the team playing well and looking good. I believe we are a central midfielder away from a solid squad for the season. People say good goal scorers are hard to find, but I make quality central midfielders on a budget just as hard!

I still didn't get a response to my query 2 pages ago , so I presume that we drew and that some forum contributors think that we played well for a draw against the bottom team at the start of the day , whilst others think that it was value for money and that perhaps we should bring back J.S.1.to save us from another possibility of a relegation 2 years on the trot !. I didn't go today , as I had to attend my final CPC module, those in the LGV sector will know what it is !. Well , we play Concord Rangers next game , I believe and from past memory, they are only Canvey Islands team playing next to a caravan site in sunny Essex , so we should turn them over and we can all think that we will get automatic promotion back to the N.L.come April next year !!! C'MON You Stones. The 🖤🧡⚽️

We are still trying to up our levels as the team starts to gel, JS2 and HH still tickling their team to find the best line up and formation, n’est pas ? But they’ll find their creme de la menthe !! Mange tout mon ami, mange tout. 🙂

Interesting hearing Hakan say they took Justin off for tactical reasons. Wonder if it was anything to do with the one on one he had where he didn't square it for a certain goal.

Interestingly, for a club that wants to get back with the fans, why shy away from the post bar interaction? If I’m being honest the bar was emptier than I’ve ever seen it, but obviously the best way to build a bridge with supporters isnt post match diving out a side exit.

A draw was disappointing in a game we should have won but it’s still not panic time as lots of positives and a fully fit Edwards and Embury still to come back and McClure looks useful.
Clovis still has to prove himself and Nana and Justin have to become more consistent, Wishart too as he could become real quality in this league.
Biggest thing we have to pray is that George E isn’t injured!
We are still where we have always been - full of promise but yet to deliver fully. It’s early days. COYS!

The only thing I would say to that is that Wishart is ALREADY quality at this level and we should MAKE THE MOST OF IT while we have him !!! None of this leaving him out of the starting line up shit.
