Poor first half from the Stones and lucky to go in at 1-1 albeit a fantastic finish from McClure, who I thought looked pretty good. Better 2nd half and we were unlucky not to have pinched it but for several goal line blocks.
For me I'd like to see Allen start, even tho he's a little Iffy, maybe for Khan, who was poor today and have a slightly more attack minded starting 11 with Iffy playing just behind McClure.

We gave it a go in the second half, but truth is, it was two very ordinary sides with little to offer creatively. Ibs did well up front when he came on and Iffy had a go in midfield, not always successfully. Overall though, we looked off the pace throughout and gave Slough too much time on the ball, making too many unforced errors as well. George pulled up holding his hamstring towards the end, which will be a worry, though he did play on. The Slough bench were telling their players to hold for the draw, even as George was being treated and we'd used all our subs. Johnson was very good again and clattered several of their players with his robust game. Last season's refs would have probably seen him (unfairly) sent off, but in the NLS, it seems they are prepared to let more go - or maybe there is less cheating? That said, the linesman certainly got an offside wrong second half when Ibs was through and should have had a penalty not long after. McClure's goal really well taken and we probably deserved another based on the second half, but still lacking that vital bit of quality and confidence. Remain crap at corners too! One day. COYS.

Not too happy with the result, but it sounded like a much better performance and a lovely goal (not to mention a pen that the ref didn't give!). Overall, I think the performance and the new possitiity matters more than the result. Onwards and upwards! Poor first half hour but from then on it was all us. Their penalty box was like the Alamo second half, four or five efforts cleared off the line, one stonewall penalty not given and another possible as well. You normally expect to get at least one of the two. McClure was excellent, Akanbi also made a big difference when he came on. Kahn was awful, Kiei not much better. Team that finished the game looks like our strongest lineup, especially with Amaloza to come back in. According to Hakan his substitution was tactical rather than a reoccurrence of the injury.

Interesting about Justin. He certainly didn't do much and was barely in the game.

Played well today, deserved to win that. Good awareness by the management early on, Chesmain was too tucked in and Slough overloading on that side, so essential to get Wishart on to support on the left. McClure had a fabulous game, many useful flicks and touches, led things well and scored a goal maybe only possible on 3G - try rolling that in on Grass & Mud. Definite pens in the 2nd half, what's going on with that ? Credit to the travelling Rebels, made some noise throughout.

Terrible for half an hour until a moment of class for us the equaliser. Then we were ok. As soon as we went 4-4-2 we were very dangerous and created loads of chances. Maybe start that way at home?
Back 4 over-worked for half the game and played ok.
Midfield was dominated for the first half an hour. Got their act together after that. Still not dominating like you would like a 3 to do.
Iffy Allen looked good when he came on. He has been largely awful before today though. Wishart looks dangerous but doesn’t quite do anything of substance. The big 9 looked handy and Id like to see him start in a 2 upfront formation. Nana is either brilliant or awful.
Im a little sick of seeing sides come to The Gallagher and play football when we seem to treat the ball like a hot potato.
Entertaining second half though. That start was bloody awful though.

Interesting about Justin. He certainly didn't do much and was barely in the game. I assumed he was injured by the way he went off. It kind of played into our hands though as Chesmain was struggling (with no help from JA) with their right hand winger.

Pretty much agree with this assessment Dave. I think Amaluzor left Chesmain very isolated by not tracking back so if it was tactical I think it was correct as Wishart is stronger defensively than Amaluzor.

Positives were the defence especially Chiesman and McClure up top. Other than that no one else. Midfield were awful and never wanted the ball. Clovis was the worst of the lot and couldn’t be bothered moving to get the ball. Worst midfield we have ever had at the Gallagher. How Phillips was not offered a deal ahead of these 3 we have. How JS can play Justin I don’t know. He said he shouldn’t have played Edwards against Welling because of injury and did the same thing today. I think JS is outdated and not closing the goalkeeper and defence down annoys the whole crowd and should always close them down. Very poor again against a poor side who out passed out most of the game. Next 5 games are tough and I can’t see us getting much from them. Also Eastbourne let in 5 today and we couldn’t even get 5 shots off in that game on Tuesday. We are such a poor side and not sure where and when it will get better.

Both reports suggest Cole was caught out by the Slough goal, but there was a clear deflection which made it loop over him.

One of the very best parts of today was the U9s kick about at half time. Goodness me, those lads had such skill, trickery, confidence & finesse. Credit to the Coaches, sign 'em up for the 2029 / 30 season !

Awful until we made a tactical sub at 30. Leaving out Wishart was a big mistake. Second half much better. Three unbeaten...baby steps and good to see some stability after last season.

I think that's a fair assessment of the game, although I don't agree about the penalties. The shout in the first half definitely wasn't one, I had an excellent view of that from my position on the rail. The second one was a lot further away but it looked like ball to hand - maybe the video will prove me wrong. I actually thought Slough played okay, they started brightly and didn't look like a team that has been struggling. In the end we were probably a little unlucky not to nick the extra points. It was nice to see McLure do so well after the cynicism on here about his signing. He took his goal really well, it was a very tight angle and many league strikers would have struggled to net that from his position. Although the goal was a gift after the keeper got into a mess, he deserved it because he was a constant threat. No doubt the doom merchants will say it was awful because we failed to beat the bottom side but it was actually quite an entertaining game and there were some positives.

Philips wanted to stay at a higher level, wasn’t interested, and only put his story in the paper when he had no offers. Every week someone’s says worst ever this and worst ever that. Get a grip

We played alright in the second half but let's put things into perspective. We have played 3 very ordinary sides so far and taken just two points. Welling best us then a week later lost 3-0. Eastbourne drew with us and then got hammered 5-0. Slough have Bath next and no doubt they will lose 3-0 in that game.
If we were clinical we would of won all those games. Instead we are struggling to stamp our authority on games.
