Are you calling Sword fickle?! It would be different to the usual f word πππ Nice to see you in the crush of the Town End on Tuesday, sorry I couldn't stop to chat as I needed a piss as a matter urgency. Maybe some time soon we can have a decent conversation. I am not fickle just fick.

It makes some on here feel better about their desertion in the past πππ Good to see you too...even if it was fleeting

So JS2 himself has stated that not all of his signings will work out and I make him correct!!
For me the goal keeper and back four that started Tuesday are solid and as good as any defence we have had in recent years.
The players that I think will not work out are Pennell and Clovis! Pennell has been rubbish in pre season and in the two games he started. Not sure how he got an England C call up or was ever tipped to play league football. Clovis Iβm sure did a job a few years ago, however he is slow, not particularly skill full and just kind of lumbers around the middle of the pitch! The rest of the team I hope will improve and I think they will. Harsh to right off those two already, but that is my opinion.
I also noticed our tiny pitch looks very crowded during a game and itβs like a pinball machine with a bit of head tennis! No time on the ball and little width! However the pitch ainβt changing so we need to workout a way of winning on it again!

The congested pitch you noticed could play into his hands. I still think he will turn out to be very useful.

Certainly better in midfield than back four.

I thought Clovis did ok, first full game really, at he won a few headers in the middle of the park, not going to pull up any trees but as a holding midfielder, I think he should do a job for us

Clovis has shown how much he wants to succeed here by moving house closer to the ground so he can give 100% commitment to MUFC and in my opinion that makes him well worth persevering with.

A good point. Once he gets up to full fitness, we can see what we have

Clovis at 28 years is not exactly past it. Given his calf injury from pre season training, surely the guy should be given a chance before he is written off as a waste of space ? He has a seriously decent track record over the years and def looks the part as a holding midfielder. Time will tell.

I haven't got the panic button any more Nick - you must have it as you keep going on about it! Battling performance last night which was encouraging. Get Justin, Jonny and Jake back and the goals will come. We have four points from August so far. Three against Slough would be very very good. We may not be title contenders, but we wont go down, and may threaten to sneak into play offs from a strong mid-table position. Clovis still needs to impress, but Corne is growing on me. Hoyte is a bit hit and miss, but not bad. Johnson may be a hoofer rather than a ball to the feet man but had a great game last night and he can sprint! George, as ever an inspiration and Chesmain, whilst not great, was better than Pennell! Cole was superb, as ever. He may even be better than Worgs. Wishart was too quiet and didn't play like he did against Welling and Hungerford, so needs to get back to that kind of performance. So, yes, midfield needs to do better but we have a team that battles and competes and so the 0-0 in NLS last night was more enjoyable than the passionless NL dross over the past two years. Once you have accepted we are currently at the same level as an Eastbourne Borough, and get over it, you can start to enjoy the football. Panic, what panic? I have the panic button hidden away where Old Boy can't find it. Only problem is I can't remember exactly where I put it... NWS has personally message me , and I had to agree with him , that it's also a shame that you haven't lost the will to post so many times on the forum !! ... He has and to an extent, so do I !!! π€£π€£π€£π€£

Here goes NWS , it didn't take long for your sparring partner to have a dig at your post !! . So to get it right , let's say , that some supporters will moan about the players we have and some will be happy with them and some others will want both set to give them time to adapt and get as a unit !! Now let's wait & see how he criticise this post !! Too sensitive pal. My response wasn't intended as a criticism and I'm sure NWS didn't see it as such. NWS is far too modest to reply to this one , so on his behalf , I'd say ... YES !!!

Clovis should be loaned to a club as far as possible that we wouldn't have to hear or suffer him anymore !! ... Many like me as some contributors to this forum might think !! π€£π€£π€£π€£

In my view , and I only wear plain lenses glasses , Clovis is utter rubbish ! ... No length of time will be long enough for him to improve. Every time I've seen him play for us this season , that's including the pre-season, he has been the one that stand out as being the weakest player/link in this team !!
