Yep, it went something along the lines of... "I got conned by a big nasty man even though I think I'm business savvy.... 3G pitches are brilliant but those nasty men at the Football League won't let me use it at their level so I won't put any decent funding into the team I co-own.... we really, really fucked up by sacking Jay and employing the Clown from 'ricay because he was cheaper than than Bill's option but I haven't got the balls to to actually admit that its mine, and Terry's, fault that this club got relegated last season.... quiconque n'est pas d'accord avec moi sera forcé de quitter ce club" Think that just about covers it. If a couple of Mill each isn't decent funding then please inform us of how much they should invest/or borrow to invest As for the 3G i would prefer a grass pitch but it is much preferable than travelling to Sittingbourne/Ashford to watch my team. Show me where and when Terry or Oliver have put, and I quote you here, "a couple of Mill each" into funding the team - go on, I dare you. Please don't confuse the team with the ground, it shows you up for being more of a t**t than I am.

Please go away now Why? Am I not allowed to ask where your proof is about the £4million funding of the team?

You are right the £4 million is to project Maidstone which means everything from new stands to admin staff wages none of which to my knowledge has been used to fund the team. Team funding comes from gate money and sponsorships plus maybe pitch hire money. I will say though that the money they have invested they are unlikely ever to get back and none of us should forget that.

Indeed "Investing" in a football club is a misnomer for "pouring money down the drain". You don't get it back. Ask the Premiership Moneybags owners of Salford! A football club has to be viewed more of an expensive hobby like a classic car or riverboat or light aircraft - i.e. a money black hole. Good to see Oliver at the game last night, in amongst the faithful. He is a good guy, even if he has some namby pamby political views ( ), and we should be pleased to have him. It could be a lot, lot, lot, worse.

Who said anything about the team. And no, no one is more of a t**t than you.

When did anyone ever say there was £4m funding of the team?? Even by the standards of some of the nutters on this board, that's weird.

Not at all sure you are right sword when you say Terry and Oliver will never get their money back. Admittedly investments are normally about making money and there's no sign of interest, dividends or payments going the way of our owners. Eventually though, when they move on in whole or in part, I expect the new investors will clear the loans owed to Terry and Oliver. In the meantime we as supporters can be thankful for everything they have achieved for the club.

Just for any potential millionaire investors thinking of pouring money into Maidstone United. Yes, there will always be one or two numpties, for who your generosity will never be enough and who will piss and moan about you on social media. Meanwhile, the other 99% are grateful and understand the reality of living within ones income. We all have to do it with our wages or pensions. Please don't listen to the moaning Minnies, do build a stand or two, have some fun with some of the best people I've ever met.

What's this about being wrong just the ONCE ! One could argue that the "for once" actually refers to the 'not minding' rather than the "being wrong" element of the sentence. But who would be that pedantic?
