Doesn’t matter whether we go up via the playoffs, automatic promotion, or just miss out and stay in the NLS. Every summer at this level involves a major rebuild of the squad. It’s whether or not Maidstone can attract players of sufficient quality for the level they’re at. I don’t mind promotion and a tough season at the next level, but many of our new fans will not hang around for that. History suggests this football club is never at one level for a long period. Which is why it has seldom been boring

BW yes, but Dorking have a pretty poor defensive record and rely much on scoring more goals than their opponents. Not the worst philosophy, to be fair, but they need to spend more money on their ground if they want to stay with the big(ger) boys. It's not actually their ground - it's owned by the Surrey County FA (I think), so there's a limit as to what they can do with it. They were/are supposed to be looking for a site where they can build an 'EFL standard' stadium. Good luck with that, given land prices/green belt restrictions, etc in that area. I assume that they must have convinced the NL that this plan was feasible when they were promoted - but how is beyond me. Anyway, it's not looking like a problem they're going to have for a while...

Injury aside this abandonment will not help Truros fixture backlog.

Both Braintree and Hampton & Richmond could only draw tonight against teams in the lower half of the table- means they are still catchable.
This Saturday sees 6 of the top 9 play each other - which is good news provided we can take advantage Averley V St Albans Braintree V Yeovil Worthing V bath (Sunday)

Truro's fixture list appears to be cursed at the moment. Even when they do get a game, it is abandoned.

I hope its not to serious as I liked Alex Finney.😪 Apparently he's got a dislocated kneecap. I really rated him when he played for us, but sadly since he left he's been constantly injured......hardly played since 2020.

Christ knows if it's true, but I was told by an Eastbourne fan that they are planning to rip up the pitch and go back to grass.
