Nowt to do with the thread of course, but should you read what Hunt and BoJo are saying, it is aimed squarely at the blue rinse brigade who are the only ones who can vote for them. The vast majority of these are slightly to the right of Atilla the Hun and firmly believe everything the Express and Mail tells them. And from this we get our next prime minister. We can only hope that Parliament as a whole can offer some moderation, though if that then leads to a general election, gawd help us, because the alternatives are just as scarry. With Singapore, the US, Iran and the UK to name but a few, politics generally is a scary place at the moment.

Obviously, I will tout the Greens as a sensible alternative. I would also offer the Libs although I was unimpressed with the T-Shirts in the EU Parliament the other day. Just let Farage and the idiots get on with their pathetic antics. They are getting desperate. The 'survived the blitz' wartime heroes (that were never in the war) are slowly coming to an end (literally) and their support will wane. Younger people already realise that the big issue is climate change not a 1940s view of Germans and that it will need cooperation amongst nations and continents to overcome what it will bring. All Farage and co bring is division and hatred, as they try to cling to the last vestiges of the financial scam. We are either moving towards a new dawn of enlightenment about the world around us and all the social/political/economic change that it will require or we are moving towards extinction.

The wonderful man who is going to rise up the political ladder and lead this country back into the EU ,save the NHS&Schools. The man who will give back the pensioners their bus passes ,their free TV licenses and their pride. To treat disabled people with respect as it is not our fault we are such. When is it going to happen nws because the people you support don't give a damn.

When is it going to happen nws because the people you support don't give a damn. The Green Party has been a beacon of anti-austerity all along so I am not quite sure how you arrive at your last assertion. The labour party advocated it, just to a lesser extent than the Tories and the Libs held their nose and supported it. The people who are taking us out of Europe are among the strongest supporters of anti-austerity. If you stop and think there not many groups of society that have been spared from blame for lessening real incomes. The disabled, single Mums, the unemployed, foreigners, muslims, Eastern Europeans etc etc. I totally agree with you about the shoddy treatment of disabled people. It's been utterly and abjectly awful but I'm afraid you are aiming your ire at the wrong people and, as a result, supporting the people that either don't care about you (just lining their pockets) or, worse still, don't care about you and actively support policies that make you worse off and them better off. The people I support have not been in power yet you target them as not caring about you rather than those that are in power and have been making things worse. Here is the Green Party disability manifesto from 2017. Have a read (it's not long). You would support the scrapping of work capability assessment I suspect and definitely the requirement for councils to create housing plans for deaf, disabled and older people. www.greenparty.org.uk/assets/files/green-party-disability-manifesto.pdfAlternatively, don't read it, ignore what I say and continue supporting Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson etc and believing they speak for you when they tell you it is all the fault of the EU and you need to support them. Boris Johnson has shown no interest in your social group for 9 years. Once he gets in as an unelected PM and pushes through a no-deal Brexit he will ignore you and your interests even more. Oh and he's a foreigner.

Mate! it is possible to oppose Brexit without supporting The Greens, who at the end of the day are just as much a bunch of loonies as the Brexit party.

We are moving towards a new dawn of enlightenment about the world around us and all the social/political/economic change that it will require That's called a triumph of hope over experience. Personally, I am refusing to do anything about climate change until a) someone proves that it is not the planet just having one of its regular changes of mood, and b) China and India join in the anti-emissions treaty. Until then, you are whistling in the wind.

You're forgetting the US who, with a president with a massive stake in the coal mining industry, are never going to admit there is such a thing, and Brazil who think it's OK to destroy a football pitch sized area of rain forest every minute. Even if we reduce emissions to zero we're still gonna be killed by everyone else's profligacy.

Even if we reduce emissions to zero we're still gonna be killed by everyone else's profligacy. And us. Not only are we still one of the worst offenders (especially if you take a wider view than just co2), but, as the originators of the industrial revolution, we've also been at it longer than anyone else. In fact, it wouldn't be stretching things too far to say that, without us, there wouldn't have been global warming! And all this crowing about us being ahead of everyone else on co2 reduction is hog-wash. For a start, it only applies if you take a very narrow view of global warming (there's much more to it than just fossil fuel electricity production). But also it's mostly due to nearly all our coal mining industry being shut down. And Thatcher didn't do that because she was worried about global warming!

It even managed to stop Brexit being the news for two days last year You are not whistling in the wind you are leading by example and encouraging them to join in. I would also add that anything positive you do will be beneficial.
