If we are in The top 4 at xmas expect the budget to be cut because we cannot afford to go back up yet. Come on sword. A bit more optimism. A whole new team. Let’s see where they take us. COYS As an addendum to the above ,despite the piss poor opposition on Saturday I was quietly impressed by our performance and that's something I haven't been able to say for quite sometime. I think there is the making of a very good side there but until we see them in a competitive match when the pressure is on we won't truly know how good they are.

Come on sword. A bit more optimism. A whole new team. Let’s see where they take us. COYS Its not pessimism mr Shamstone ,its realism as something doesn't sit right about our budget. Terry Casey said our budget would be 3 times that of any other club and Oliver Ash openly refuted that claim. Now as wonderful as our owners have been there is a world of difference between their claims which stinks of disharmony in the ranks. I think one or other of them will be happy of we stay in the South division because it is abundantly clear to all that we cannot,as yet, afford to compete in the National League. I think the budget has been deliberately set at a level to stop us going up and the only question I would like answered is which one of the owners has made that decision? But surely John Still is too long in the tooth to settle for mediocrity. Don’t you think ?

As far as anyone knows JS2 has been given a one year deal to steady the ship that was sinking steadily last season, therefore to finish mid table would count as success in the eyes of the owners. Now whether that success leads to an extension of his contract to push the club onwards only time will tell. Here's a question for you ,should we have an indifferent start to the season let's say 15th by xmas who will be held accountable JS2 or HH ?

It’s got to be both

Again I am not sure ,assuming that it is JS2 and his scouting network that has unearthed these players would it then be fair to hold HH responsible if they turn out to be hopeless?

Isn’t it a joint thing going on though

Isn’t it a joint thing going on though You tell me, I would hope so but will we ever truly know but surely as director of football JS2 gets the final say on who gets a contract but hopefully the situation of who to blame will not arrive this year.

If the fans turn out in numbers, I just think it’s going to be a great season. Looking forward to both matches against the Kimg Clown and a few nice away ones. Saturday straight in there. 3-0. COYS

COYS With Weymouth losing their manager and half of there players I would expect them to struggle this season and they will do well to stay up but with only 2 going down this year they have half a chance. I will echo your optimism and match your 3-0 prediction.

I reckon you're overstating it. One or both of them will probably be happy enough for us not to get promoted, but I bet neither of them would be upset if we did, and it's ludicrous to suggest that we might cut the budget to avoid it. I think even our owners, sensible as they are, realise that running a football club is unlike running any other business, and while running the club in a sustainable way they aren't going to deliberately make us uncompetitive. I've always believed, and still do, that whether we get promoted or not will be entirely organic and nothing to do with any manipulation of budgets.

I don't imagine that Oliver and Terry consult with each other before tweeting / blogging / talking to the press, either. They're two very different blokes with different outlooks.

Welcome Ryan, he deserves a chance on the performances he has put in the PSFs. On another matter an Interesting blog from Oliver where he states our budget to be above average but not really competing with the subsidised high fliers in NLS. Still hopes we may challenge for the play offs but seems to suggest that we may have to rely on good performances in the second half of the season as the team gells and develops together. He asks for some patience from supporters. All very realistic and reasonable imo.
