That’s one less side show to worry about .
Good luck Jack. Prove them (and me) wrong

Don't blame him. Four years and hardly a sniff.
Funny how JS2 and HH seem to be offering contracts to players they didn't seem to want to play. Are they struggling to find new players?
Beginning to feel like Oldboy's excitement might have some basis.

I hope it doesn't have any basis!...............I would hate my concerns at the slowness to sign new players after JS2 has been working on getting them for so long to have ANY substance in them!
Maybe they were just offering new contracts (probably at zero hours pay or pretty close!) out of politeness, and to help the player get a new club as a "wanted" player.

Reading between the lines, as 2 players have turned down deals in the last 24 hours, I’d say the club had given them a deadline. Now that deadline is here or close. I’d suggest we were holding off on signings until we knew more from then deals offered to the squad from last season. WDH, Swaine etc will follow with their decision soon I’d guess.

That makes sense, if its accurate.
Hopefully the dead wood will all leave officially now to clear the way for new signings, although, like Max I thought Jack Richards was worth a punt in NLS.
Time to move on though, for him and for MUFC. Like Ollie, I wish him well.

He seems to have a soft spot for Tonbridge so maybe we will see him again very soon!

He seems to have a soft spot for Tonbridge so maybe we will see him again very soon! I suspect we may be up against quite a few of last years squad in NLS this year.
Romain at Eastbourne, Jack at the Mangels, and I'm sure the Essex teams will be awaiting news from any Essex based departees and the Kent teams likewise.

Question has to be Oldboy do we fear any of last season’s squad? Our management know just how to quell their style of play! I believe we only had two players who were tough to marshal and that was Turgott and Amaluzor! We have signed one and the other has no chance of playing any lower than NL next season!

Mmm... So, how many players do we definitely have for next season at the moment, other than not enough. Not yet time to fret, but would hope that by June we are looking at net gains and that is only ten days away. That just leaves June to fill up the squad and July to get them playing together. Not that long really and the longer we leave it, the fewer quality players there will be available - barring waving big money around.

I think pre season just gone was the only time in recent years where we made last minute signings like Mullins and Quigley, but saying that other clubs NL and higher have since signed those two despite the performances they put in so at the time both appeared pretty good additions. I put that down to Saunders nearly leaving and possibly issues in his personal life that must have made it tough to focus on recruitment. However we had 70% of our squad already in place and this time round it’s the opposite! I would hope with a week or two to go we should have all but three or four players signed up. Not time to panic just yet but ask again in a month!

I think the thing that's spooking Oldboy (and maybe others) is the feeling of déjà vu from last season, when we went into our first pre-seasons with barely enough players to field a team. And all our worst fears about what this meant were shortly confirmed. I'm hoping that our faith in JS2 isn't misplaced and a host of exciting signings will apear in the next two or three weeks. But, right now, pre-seasons are only a month and a half away, and we appear have a squad of about 6!

It's still May. Relax. Most players and managers are on holiday and you don't want to rush into signings and then good players become available in July.
