If you read what he says he says Ashford’s pitch is quite a firm surface

He also has old knees.. he knows his own body and if he feels 3G is tougher on it than grass then you have to respect that. He may be right or he may be wrong. Whatever he is, he is certainly a Stones legend.

He is but he is 32 not the 26 version we had playing for us. I'd rather have younger fresher players now.

Frannie Collin - stones legend Indeed. Will always be Mr Stevenage to me. A priceless moment in MUFC history.

3G is horrendous to slide tackle on even when wet! When playing non league football hard tackling and last second slides can be a big part of a team’s game! We have never wet our pitch like it’s designed to be before a game like Sutton do! 3G promotes passing football and running at defences, but finding players at our level good enough to take advantage of this style of play is difficult as we have shown! A huge chunk of our budget comes from renting out the pitch, using it for the academy and saving money on a training ground. Take it away and our player budget based on advertising and gate receipts alone would put us bottom third of the NLS.
So the reality is with our current owners and business model we will be a good NLS club or a struggling NL club, end of story. 3G is wonderful between November and February when most pitches are like plowed fields. So new owners with bags of money will end the debate on 3G, Dr Al-Humaidi anyone???

It was marginal, no more than a couple of inches if at all, and the lino was better placed to see it than any of the TV cameras and all but a handful of supporters, so to me it will always be a perfectly good goal.

Cant believe that Nick is dissing one of the greatest moments in our history as an offside goal.
Next hell be saying Hursts in 66 wasnt over the line. The point is - who cares? The result is the key thing!

Talking of which, if you want a burning sense of injustice, become a Cardiff fan. I've never liked Neil Warnock, but I do have a lot of sympathy for him after that Chelsea match - the officials cost him another season in the PL.

Of course it was over the line - the Russians have it on film.
