The great unanswerable question.
Would JS1 & Watty have kept MUFC in the NL ?
No one can be sure, but they would have had a sporting chance for def.
What we can all agree 100% is that the pairing would have done so much better than what followed.
Still it's just history and speculation, now it's onwards and upwards with JS2/HH.

I think they would have, but probably only just. And would another season of just surviving in the NL have done us any good in the long term?
I think we'd probably got as far as we could and a dose of reality and a forced rebuild were overdue. The club hadn't faced up to the reality of the NL, and needed a disaster like last season to wake them up.
It's just such pity that Jay had to be the one to pay the price. I'm sure he could have made a decent NL manager - or higher - had he had the support of the club and the funding to do more than survive.
But all water under the proverbial now, we are where we are. The owners have behaved decently and admitted their mistakes - and hopefully learnt from them. A season or two of decent football and home wins will help us forget and move on.
All that remains now is the question of what we do the next time we find ourselves in the NL, with a business model that doesn't support survival in that league...

By the time we go up again the FA will have introduced a new National league national north and south premier in which the national north a nd the national south will feed into the relevant national league national north or south premier but the feeder leagues will be renamed the national league national premier north and south regional north and south leagues.

Yep a great podcast but why advocate JS1 as the man to take us back to the NL ? We, meaning the club and supporters have moved on. We are where we are.

Lots of sense spoken, a really unlucky man completely shafted last year by goings on @ MUFC. Surely deserves another chance somewhere !

We have to move on. Jay is at Margate. Our owners are 100% behind Hakan and John Still, so we gave to be too. Pigs sentiments are understandable but unhelpful at this time.

Just waiting for someone to come on here with a post to tell Pigott to "get over it" I think I just did!
Yes, totally understandable from Pigs - he owes Jay a lot, and likes him a lot, but equally Joe hasn't been through the day to day pains of the Stones since Jay left so of course wont understand the need to rally behind JS2 and HH, who Pigs - I believe - has never worked with. Pigs and Jay are from a glorious former time that we can be nostalgic about and enjoy memories of, but the now is different.
Does this finally exonerate me from being accused on these threads of being in love with JS1? My wife will be so pleased.

Shamstone really got to you... I think I've purged myself of it now, though, thanks! He's a lad, that sham. What we do without him!
