Why does it say Richards offered new deal and then the list of out of contract players? Does this imply none of the others have been offered a deal?

Doesn't really tell us much we didn't know already. Suspect it will be several weeks before we are looking at at a squad of any size.

It's a strangely honest and spare announcement. Just the facts and a brief, and rather underwhelming. 'thank you'.

Got more chance of Daveu having his hair shaved off than we have of WDH staying here next season.

What did you think we'd give them a parade for their services last season. Not at all. They got far more than they deserved as it was. I wasn't complaining, in fact I was quite happy with the tone and brevity of the statement - probably about as blunt as the club can afford to be. I was just a little surprised. Up to now they seem to have been rather in denial about just how bad the season has been and whose responsibility it was. But since the end of the season they've been much mmore open and honest. Understandable, I suppose, that they chose not to be too blunt whilst the season was still underyway.

No Tommy Fagg on retained list? I'm not entirely convinced he existed. Sounds too much like an old-school football name. Did he play for Fullchester United?

So Simon Walton is the first player to announce he is moving on from the long list the club has compiled of whom have not yet been offered new contracts. Good luck to Simon although I am a little concerned he may be seen again in Billericay's colour next season. I think we will not see more than a couple from the (long list) staying with the club, one of whom is likely to be Lewington, but not necessarily as 1st choice keeper. Even though we have 5 players contracted for next season, it's hard to be see Coker or De Havilland playing again in Black and Amber. Not convinced about Wishart either.

We have to hope that a club comes in an makes an offer for Coker as he,s on a 2 year contract, and after this season I doubt there many clubs who would pay for his services.
