Jack Doyle has been released by blackburn. We won’t have a lot of chance of getting him but he would be a great signing If we could pull it off

Our defence was probably at its best with them two as fullbacks and we looked a lot harder to break down and score against.

Never say never but there's no doubt the squad is undergoing a massive overhaul. The club's retained list is full of 'ifs and buts' and for sure most of the players listed won't be wearing the black and amber shirt again. Still only 3 definites for next season. The sooner most of them our cleared from our books the better for the club and for JS2 to get in with the job of securing replacements. The positive news of 600+ season ticket sales already will help. I reckon you may need to take a look closer to home for potential signings. John Still has a fabled scouting network but there must be a chance of him picking up 2/3 players from clubs where he has previously managed. The last time when 'the clown' rebuilt the squad it was a disaster, this time it feels very different. In JS2 we trust. A player signing like RW wouId send a pretty positive message out about the quality of recruits we can expect. He does tick all the boxes and it would be a great signing. Not sure how JS/HH are going to manage a summer break for themselves. See Dave Tarpey been released by Barnet well worth a punt despite his recent injury problems

He's been a prolific goalscorer at NLS level. Apparently he was offered a new contract by Barnet for next season but he declined declaring that he wants to return to part time football. So probably rules him out but you never know given his JS2 links.

Another 'available' player with JS2 links (Dagenham/Barnet/Peterborough) is Craig Mackail Smith. A truly seasoned striker in the EFL with a great record. Coming to the end of his career but would be quite a signing for NLS level. Wages could be a problem.

If true would rule him out HOWEVER this could be so much BS put about by the anti 3G brigade, we will never know, probably

MOLEY at left back now that could be interesting alas he is only used to running 22 yards between wickets or up to bowl but I'd put a fiver on him being a better bowler than Doyle.

Aldershot have announced their retained list, it’s smaller than ours!
I was quite impressed by their #6 Elokobi at our home match and looked a fair brute of a CB. Any other players worth looking at?

Until the new Manager is appointed, that is.
One for Jay?
