I would bring back Flisher. As injury prone as he is, the long throws on our skinny pitch caused problems for defences in every league we played in. Is he worth covering the cost of him leaving his job to train full time, possibly not! Is he the player he nearly became before his first major injury, I doubt it! One thing is for sure it would be a start at making the team popular with the fans again! It’s going to be very hard to warm to a team that is 90% new however well they play. Hopefully Flish blew JS2 away when he watched Margate, but probably not!! Other than Sweeney is there a single player not currently in the squad who has played under JS2 or HH and been a Maidstone player in the past 5 years? I can’t think if any! 16 or so new faces me thinks! Well done pieman I thought I was the only pro-Flish and pro long throw fan on this thread, but he left us because he didn't want FT, and JS2 and HH don't know him, so its probably a pipedream.
16 or so new faces it probably is!

Tom Mills, a player we have never been able to replace But also a player we don't know how would have fared in the last two seasons. It's easy to hanker after former players when they haven't had to weather the shit storm of the last two (and especially the last) seasons. Haven't seen Millsy play for the Gate, but by all accounts the NL quality and potential that Millsy once undoubtedly had seems to have been reduced to average by playing in the Sticky - and also he left us because he couldn't do FT. We have a recurring theme here! We need to think about FT ex-players worth having.
On that vein, it would be great to have Seth and Bobby-Joe back, and I liked George Porter, but they would be either daft or very out of favour with their managers and lacking NL offers to leave their current NL clubs for us in the NLS, even if we are FT.
I think we are just going to have to be patient to see who JS2 has for us. First, though, the announcement on who is going.................

BJT started with us in NLS so I suppose that's a possibilty, although I believe he's currently negotiating a new deal with Dover. Always though we should have re-signed him at the start of this season, but for whatever reason Jay didn't want him.

I rated BJT thought when he played for us we always looked a far more balanced team, he also gave optional cover in defence if needed, plus at the time one of the best dead ball players we had. Shame we didn,t try harder to keep him.

Flisher...................... Sadly his best days are long gone. Injuries really wrecked what could of been a career in the football league for him.

How do you know his best days are gone, have you seen him play since leaving Maidstone? I would welcome him back, he played with more heart & soul than most of the recent team put together. If he gets himself really fit, who knows??

If he gets himself really fit, who knows?? Just compare him to how he was before injury to his last 2 seasons at Maidstone.....he wasn't even close to being the same player. Also bare in mind why at Margate hes had so many injury problems that hes played only 27 games in 2 seasons.

We really need to move on from Flish. The problem with the injuries he’s had, is it’s psychological as well as the obvious physical aspect. It’s always in the back of your mind, so you commit to that tackle a fraction less than you would, don’t accelerate as you would of pre injury etc.
Maidstone luck would be sign him, out for season first game of pre season.
On a pay as you play contract though? Less risk. But otherwise no thanks.

Dean Beckwith released by Sutton. He was pretty solid in his brief spell on loan with us and has bags of experience. Maybe a good addition
