There will be no shortage of NL and NLS players looking for clubs at the end of the season. If the off field side has been well organised, plenty of them should want to play for Maidstone. John Still has been diplomatic about it, Jay Saunders was apparently more open and Bill Williams has said repeatedly that we were probably promoted five years before we were ready. Collectively we've clearly been told that the 'behind the scenes' element of the club was not up to successful National League standard.
Some of us apparently still want almost instant success from the new management but, in my view, at least as important, and certainly more so long term, is to get the set-up right. To me that's one of the main reasons why we've now got an experienced manager in. But I suspect that's not an immediate fix, any more than building a successful team on the pitch is.
If by this time next year we've got a sustainable, National League level, structure off the pitch and we've had stability on the pitch I will consider that a success. Others will undoubtedly want far more.

I just want to see good football. Not the shit we’ve had to endure this season

The first goal summed up our season; from the kick-off Turgott tried to do too much & lost possession, Powell made an unnecessary foul & from the resulting free kick Davis was to slow in the box and conceded a penalty. Just voted for Swaine as MOTM; I really hope we can keep him next season. I was one of those asking for Richards to be given a chance. Well all he did was to confirm that he is Bostik level at best. Embery is still getting used to a much higher level & probably needs to play alongside a big striker. Lewington - he should be our first choice keeper next season. Phillips - not quite good enough at full-back or midfield but would be a good squad player in the NLS. David - Initial mistake shredded his confidence & as a loanee I don't suppose he'll be here next season but I would be happy if he was. Swaine - I hope he can be persuaded to stay. Wishart - an enigma but I think best got rid of. Powell - Will surely sign for another NL side next season. Taylor - I am a fan & would sign him next season. Muldoon - HH/JS2 seem to like him but the crowd were on his back yesterday. Don't think he'll be here next season. Richards - see above, just not good enough. Embery - see above but signed for next season anyway. Turgott- Tries to do it all himself but seems to have lost the edge off his pace. Another who will probably go to another NL club Subs:- Henry - no Walton - no Amaluzor - signed for next season & presumably seen as the replacement for Turgott Cassidy - Showed promise when first loaned but really tailed off since. Won't be here next season. Romain - NLS is probably his level. After his recent displays hard to see anyone else wanting to sign him. Others: WDH - Presumably injured. If he really has a relegation clause in his contract then I hope he can be persuaded to stay. He and Swaine would be excellent in the NLS and one of them should be made captain. Coker - JS1 made a major error here. McLennan - Looked good when fit to play which was a rare event. don't think we'll see him again. Strigovic - No Did I miss anybody? the most laughable ones ive seen what were you watching basically got most of them wrong

HH and JS2 are as pissed off with this awful group of players as the rest of us. We have used 60 players and HH/JS have only brought in a couple of them. The major surgery conducted by the clown has tied their hands. This is not their squad. I feel confident about next season.. The one thing i would like to see from our fantastic owners at the end of the season is a heartfelt apology for appointing Harry Wheeler. And from all of us who, at the time, thought it might go well Like Terry, Oliver and Bill we are still suffering that misconception I apologise

I can subscribe to that AND we've never won 3 Senior Cups in a row so would be nice

If Coker is included then so should Wynter or is he no longer out on loan?
Talking of loanees is Edobor still with us? and someone mentioned on another post we've got one - whose name escapes me - out at Margate.

Sorry sword but you are totally misreading the signals. There is 0% chance of John and Hakan being fired. 0% and no more. Understand and get over it. Happy to hear HH's post match interview. He didn't try to hide the fact that he is fed up with the players and their lack of hunger and effort. Cannot wait to get rid of this season's flops and start rebuilding again with players who want to wear the club's colours with pride. HH blames everything and everyone else. In his interview he seems to be trying to claim that he built the side that beat us on Saturday. He is deluded and a poor football manager. I am sure he is a nice man and could maybe join JS on the editing team of the programme.

So out of order ! John Still rates him and he knows a thing or two about football management. Shame that a supporter uses this forum to slag HH off. Look he's got it all to prove and next season will be a testing time. At least give him a chance to prove his qualities with a new team of JS's choice.

As for HH, I'm afraid I'm with the 'doubters' - I've not seen or heard anything to indicate he is even a good manager, let alone anything special.
OK, he inherited a dodgy squad, but a decent manager typically achieves more with the sqad he takes over than the previous incumbant. Also not convinced (based on anything I've seen or heard) about the idea that JS will be able to find/build a decent NS/NL side and mentor HH into his replacement.
But, like everyone else, I have no choice but to wait and see, and hope I'm proved wrong.
Not exactly going into the summer break filled with excitement though - or even Terry's hope. Maybe just too bruised by what we've been through this season.

Whether or not John Still rates him, the evidence has been shown on the pitch since January 26th. Have a look at the results (let's not think about the performances that we've witnessed). He's not up to the job. Sorry to disagree with you.

He's not up to the job. Sorry to disagree with you. Oh! And "so out of order!" eh? It is perfectly within order to apply criticism and want of riddance to a management team (it's always "we") who, the evidence suggests, have proved themselves incapable of organising a group of proven footballers to perform as a team sufficiently to provide performances and results that justify the expectations we should have as wage-payers. If the instant assumption upon this management team's arrival was that we are going down anyway, then, considering that decision was made on January 26th when we were not bottom and out of range, I think it's a scandal. A scandal which affects not just the supporters' satisfaction and the club's finances, but also the morale and futures of the players. Perhaps there will be a revolution in the influence and playing style of the management team in the lower league next season. I very much doubt it, am willing to eat my words and apologise if it does happen. But if the way the present players have reacted to this regime's influence is anything to go by then why should new recruits from the sainted scouting system do any better? Worrying times.
