Stones Live seemed to think we were ok. Ironic(?), that we let in two goals after Embrey and Richards came on.

Bottom, with worst GD. Dear Terry, please, never give me hope again. Just like to. Point out that we were very good today just unlucky. Their finishing was clinical ours was not far off. I have no complaints about today's performance and Turgott was awesome. You saw all this from the pub?

2-1 down with 10 minutes to play and we go for it with a forward on replacing a midfielder.
Positive, but could go either way.
Just went the way of the rest of our season.
Good overall performance and no real complaint about tactics.
Scoreline does not reflect the game.
A lot of things will be changed in the meantime but play like that next season and some teams are going to get quite a drubbing (but hopefully not us 😁).

Having just spent the final hour of an eventful day head banging to some great rock classics courtesy of RE-RUN I can honestly say this has been the best day of the season. A trouble free coach journey, a welcoming pub with superb ales,a wonderful ground and a pulsati g game between two sides who just went for it. Yes we got spannered but it could so easily have been the other way round. I was proud of our much.maligned team today as they gave it everything. The only downside was the coach only had 31 people on it which is pathetic support for a club our size ,to all of you that couldn't be bothered to go you missed a hell of a day out.

I'm with sword on this one. Despite the score, Chesterfield was a good day out. The town was nice, the club very welcoming and friendly (I even - by sheer luck - got a lift to the ground by the PA man, Howard) and the match was entertaining. They deserved to win although 4-1 didn't really reflect the amount of chances we created. I thought the defences were both quite lax, which served to make the game more entertaining. Scott Boden was superb up front for them and looked the real deal. It was nice to meet Powell and Turgott in the KFC after the game. I thought Powell had a quality game today with some great passing.
I have been to Chesterfield to watch Chesterfield v Maidstone on 2 occasions. Last time was 28 years ago and we won 2-1 at Saltergate. In the nineties I also watched them draw 3-3 with Middlesbrough in the FA Cup final in a town centre pub. On each occasion it has been 13th April. Spooky.

Concur with you Sword.
Subs were too late and the wrong players were taken off.
Chesterfields ground and how we were welcomed by their staff was probably the best we have encountered at this level.

Coach numbers I accept could be described as disappointing but 140 away supporters is not pathetic support. Perhaps far more of us made the trip across more than one day?

Sword glad you enjoyed your day mate but spare a thought for all of us that travel to away games but for various reasons do not use the coach provided. Personally I have to drive which is a pain but thats life, at least next year the car wont do so many miles.

Both yourself and jakeyboi are correct in what you say but for various reasons my only way to get to away games is by coach and i fear that if people do not give their support to this method then Tim will not bother anymore as why should he put in hours of effort to arrange coach travel for it to be ignored. We ran the coach to Chesterfield at a hefty loss so thanks Tim for taking one on the chin for us hopefully next year if we start winning a few games then interest will pick up again. Finally 140 away was a magnificent effort and the singing helped make the day special ,even the drummer didn't annoy me which is a first perhaps I am getting used to him at last.

Also agreed great day out. The steward coming on the coach was a nice touch and allowing the fans you use their facilities. Upside of the coach being half full was more leg room. 3 and a half coach trip can be restless. Pity about the result though. Could’ve been a 5-5 draw on another day.

It is a shame about the lack of interest in the coaches, as I said I have to use the car for me an my son, but I have always supported the coach an often send people in Tim,s direction to book seats, only used it once on the FA cup trip to Wrexham only because I went on my own. Hope to god it continues to run for many years and we all owe a massive thank you to Tim for all the effort an work he puts into running an organising all this, an lets not forget he does it for the love of the club.
