Time to get something out of this season, 1-3. I must admit I hate going to this place, and it's our last game of the season.

I think we forget how basic our offering is to visiting fans, with the luxury of a few pitchside seats a very recent innovation. If Bromley's accommodation is not up to scratch, they will pay through lost matchday income. Away fans at JWW get a covered 'terrace' with some of the best views in the ground, and whatever our facilities are like, they've got be be better than Bromley's. I haven't vowed to never go there again, as with Dover, but I've come close. As for away seating at JWW, I don't know what happens theses days, but when we used to sit at the EE of the main stand, we had away fans sitting on the seats the other side of the steps.

Incidentally, on Jay's podcast, he comments how mush more professional Bromley are than the Stones. Which makes you wonder - perhaps if we'd spent less money on the ground and had things like a GK coach and more support for the players, we might be where they are.
The cheapest possible upgrade to meet NL requirements (Bromley put benches on the terraces to meet the seat reqirements), but still actually in that league?

Not going as working Tuesday night.
Not the best ground to visit and parking can be shite.
Still at least in the away end you get better burgers than the home end, the home end burgers are absolutely rank, the away end burgers are not bad, nothing to write home about but a damn site better than the ones in the home end.

Those benches were there long before Bromley were a national league side as I remember them from way back in the wilderness years when we used to play there against Cray Wanderers ,in fact we used to get moaned at for standing on them . This was all long before segregation when a trip to Hayes Lane for KSC match would be likely to attract an attendance of 200,most of these being Stones fans and at a time we were made welcome in the clubhouse for a decent ale or two it's a far different story now as success for both sides has destroyed the enjoyment factor, so much for progress, i am glad we are going down for a while.

Benches are a quaint throwback to another age. But do they meet modern grading requirements? Didn't Chatham used to have similar? The downside is they are prone to rot.

If I recall correctly Bromley had to remove them when they were promoted to the National League. Below that they are acceptable as long as the individual places are clearly marked and are a minimum width of something like 750mm (can't remember the exact figure).

This thread is just serving to remind me how much I hate Hayes Lane, rather than get me excited for the game. Thinking of not going now, because I truly do hate that uncovered step they call an away end. Remember the 17 / 18 season where it literally rained for the entire match, while being coupled with strong winds. Great. Really great.

There can't be too many forms of entertainment where you pay £20, without even knowing if you're going to enjoy it or not AND have to stand in the rain!
We are mugs.

They also have those flags hanging on the floodlight pylons which makes the view even worse.

Not worth the plane ticket then ?! No! The way I feel about Bromley and Hayes Lane at this moment in time THEY could not pay ME enough money to attend this game. I hope we turn them over and possibly kick f**k out of them as well for good measure.

Anyone going by train? Just wondering whether it's worth meeting up and doing a group saver.

Spoke with MUFC to confirm that as suspected Stones fans will be penned in the corner with no shelter like League games. Only other option is to go incognito and sit with the Bromley, as the Stones faithful may be thin on the ground. Neither option seems attractive enough to want to go!
