All four teams in the relegation zone are all south/south east teams with Braintree being the most "northern" so how is it worked out who goes into the south and North divisions next season?

Dots on a map and a ruler?
If it was the league we're leaving, I'd say bribery and corruption.

Should Oxford and Gloucester still be in the NS they will be transferred to the National North to the utter dismay of both clubs. If Gloucester go down then Braintree could find themselves in the North and I won't stop laughing all season

Quite possibly Dave but in that case I hope it is St Albans as I haven't been to Hemel yet.

As I have said before the ruler on the map gets placed roughly between The Wash and the Severn as the differentiator between NLS and NLN. So whoever is closest to this is in danger of having to flip between leagues, as did Gloucester only a few years ago.

Looking at the NLN, there are many more ex FL teams than in the south, where currently (I think) only Torquay have that status - admittedly to be doubled when Aldershot and us replace them. Up north, you have the likes of York, Chester, Southport, Boston, Kidderminster - about a third of the league, depending how you count Phoenix clubs. Does that make the NLN stronger? Depends where the money is, of course. Indeed, who are the moneybags clubs in the NLS next season and who should we fear, apart from the obvious 'all of them'?

All of them if we have players of this years calibre playing for us next season.

I remember when Sittingbourne got switched over to Ryman north a few years ago. I also recall Chatham town being relegated from Ryman south, then ending up in the Ryman north

Surely the key - still unanswered - Relegation question is are we still saying we are going to be full-time next season and what does that mean for player recruitment?
Surely better to become part-time again - cheaper, more hungry players?

Surely better to become part-time again - cheaper, more hungry players? We are staying as we are, 3 mornings a week. Confirmed on Saturday in the Spitfire Lounge by club officials. All to be announced this week once relegation confirmed.

Well at least that is settled. Always felt that the idea we would always get 'better quality and highly motivated players by offering lower wages and evening coaching', was at least very questionable. Glad that the club is giving the right signals in terms of looking forward.
