Whats a Josh Taylor when its at home? I do not recall ever having to notice said name.Josh Taylor is an adjective for a group of footballers failing to turn up for a football game they have been selected to play in. Like a certain NL club did against Dagenham at home when their Essex based players failed to get over a congested Dartford Bridge in time to fulfil a fifth tier fixture but got away with it completely unnoticed. i.e. "Doing a Josh Taylor"

Plenty of candidates but Henry wins by a country mile as he is the worst keeper ever to wear the goalkeepers shirt for Maidstone ever well at least since 1972 when I started watching us. You know I was going to counter that statement and dig up a name that challenged your claim but then I thought that even Charlie Mitten inspired more confidence than Henry!
It also made me realise what great keepers we have had over the years, from Maggs, Bellotti and Guy in the 70's through the Hesforsd and Beeneys right up to Derren Ibrahim and Worgs.
I think Josh Taylor has it over Henry though. At least I didn't keep forgetting that Henry was on the pitch. Taylor has been a better spectator of the Stones this season than all of us on this forum put together!
The worrying thing is don't the management team rather like him? Unless he has hidden depths we haven't seen yet, I hope not!
Charlie Mitten was a decent keeper. Maybe not quite up to Worgs or Lewington, but better than most of the loans we've had this year.

Or is that being too pedantic for you?

Voting is now open everyone............as Blair has been back in the team, does he now trump WDH and Phillips?
Or are we all voting for the girl in the pieshop?
Or a protest vote like Jack Richards or our reserve keeper Josh?

On appearances and attitudes WDH and Michael Phillips, plus Blair Turgott. The rest either too ephemeral, not good enough or both. Shame there is not an option for nobody, though voting for Norman Wabo might be the way to do that.

Yes Michael Phillips for me. Since the end of January M Phillips hasn't held down a position and been dropped on numerous occasions. When he has played especially of late he does not look interested. The utility player in the team is Davies playing at LCB,RCB,RB & CDM and being one of the fairly consistent players, though not been there long enough to consider for Player of year. WDH also as good as a stopper he is ,he lacks technical ability and prone to a mistake. Difficult one this season???

Indeed, I was looking at Phillips or WDH but for the same reasons as you quote, Razor, I'm going for Blair as the only real Black and Amber hero this year.
Also, only current 19 to choose from so cant really do a protest vote for Wabo! Jack Richards would be the best bet for those who want to make a point!

Sorry people but I think we should boycott this award as a sign that we are not prepared to vote for an award after such a diabolical season were time an time again it appeared that the players neither cared nor tried for the club.

Don't disagree with your sentiment jakeyboi but the reality is that there are far more fans of MUFC than just those of us who use this forum and so even if we all boycotted it the "others" are going to vote away, and so our boycott would go largely unnoticed.
Better for us all to put a spanner in the works and vote for the most unlikely candidate of the 19, like Josh S reserve keeper or our "supersub" and "one of our own" Jack R. THAT might get noticed!

Yes maybe your right mate, I just feel that it,s in poor taste for the club to expect us to vote for a player of the year when they have hardly been worth watching, makes all previous winners look pointless really.

It's got nothing to do with the club, it's a supporters vote run by iMUSC As for having a vote, we've been doing it every year for a number of years, and just because the season hasn't been good isn't a good enough reason to break with tradition Nobody is forced to vote, however, crap season or not we should still have one!

We did have a long run of awarding a player who then up and left us so I am going to vote for Henry and hope that tradition returns.

It would be a suitably ironic vote though!
