I'm starting to look forward to next season and visiting some "real" non-league grounds.

Suspect that might be a negotiating position to bring them back to the table (or just call them out).

It's one thing to have FFP type rules in non-league football but another entirely getting the League's management committee to enforce the rules. QPR were fined £42m for breaking the FFP rules and eventually agreed to pay £17m (after profitting massively in the Premier League) and there are many similar stories which have been highlighted in an article written (ironically) on QPR pages of fansnetwork - start reading a couple of paragraphs down if you want to miss the preamble about QPR not having a game that weekend.... www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/49866

So how do Bolton get away not paying £250k but north ferriby fold because of £7k? They should also be made to fold and other teams that can’t pay their debts. No idea but the police were threatening to not provide any more officers at Bolton home games until the debt was paid, not sure how that has progressed but Bolton were away this weekend to Wigan. Not sure of the repercussions of this either as i think teams legally have to have a certain amount of officers at the ground for every home game or perhaps Bolton will play any further home games with no fans in attendance?? One of the very few positive thing about Ken Bates' reign at Leeds Utd was winning a landmark legal case about this. The outcome was that clubs only have to pay for policing inside the ground, any deployment of police personnel outside of the immediate area of the ground - and I believe the interpretation was on the pavement on the ground side of the road - is paid for by the Police themselves. Some weekends it's hard to spot a copper inside Elland Road.

This may speak to their interest in good governance of the game at this level.

For those who are interested, the NL office have finally written back about the NL Board of Directors. Oliver obviously.... Shahid Azeem (Aldershot) Sid Blain (Barrow) Anthony Kleanthous (Barnet) Jim Parmenter (Dover) Steve Thompson MBE (Dagenham & Redbridge) Natalie Atkinson (Southport) (NLN Rep) Graham Wood (Hampton & Richmond) (NLS Rep) Caroline Barker and Coin Peake (Co-opted)
Presumably that will all change in June with the AGM coming up.
Unfortunately they've taken so long to reply that I've forgotten what my follow up question was going to be, but with Oliver's presence there (for now) presumably Stones interests will have been monitored.
