Isn't it bloody typical that after many away games without a coach I finally organise a lift to Wrexham only to be reminded that I am due at a 50th birthday party at 1900 on Saturday . The devil farts in my face once again and so once more I will be absent. The weather forecast is not looking good though so maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Wrexham had a bit of a mare Tuesday and will be looking to put that right against us but I have this feeling that we can scrape a result there possibly a 1-1draw which will be no good for our almost impossible survival chances but could knock Wrexham out of the title race. I would like to see Wrexham go up as they have strived for too many years for a club this size but alas I feel it is going to end in disappointment once again. Good luck to all who travel and I hope you have a great day out .

The club should put on a slap up lunch and drinks for anyone who ventures into Wrexham to watch us play. I had it down as a fixture at the start of the season I’d like to do away, but that diminished quickly.
6 nations is far more appealing from my arm chair!

Didn't we win 4-1 there last season? Another reason after them losing their last match, to give us a bit of a hiding. Still not time to come out from behind the sofa.

How many times recently have they look nailed on for at least a playoff spot all season, only to blow it in the last 10 games. maybe it's just not possible to keep it going in the face of their supporters' ridiculous expectation levels. Still think they're a football league club even though it's been 11 years since their relegation. Anyway, this is one of the long distance aways I can do even without a coach as the wife's sister lives near Chester and we always go up for a visit coinciding with a Stones game in the area. Will be travelling up tomorrow and staying in a cottage for a week, so a proper chance to explore Chester which is a fantastic historic town, and visit a few National Trust properties in the area.

Nothing like a National Trust property in the rain...

Nothing like a National Trust property in the rain... How about an English Heritage one?

Well thats the overnight stay all sorted I think all of us who travel up to Wrexham should go an stay in Daveu,s little cottage sure he will let us. I still chuckle over the flag incident in the FA Cup tie a few years ago. Not going there with any expectations but just want to see some effort.

From memory I think we went down 1-0 (during the winless period I think).
One of my few away forays and my memories are :
- Us actually playing pretty well and despite being obviously second best, never really being out of it.
- Their players being in the refs ear for the full 90 minutes (but that could be any Wrexham game).
- Michael Phillips having a decent game
- Someone (might have been Lafayette?) being nearly choked to death by one of their centre backs.
Was hoping to make it again this year, but sadly can't.

That was Good Friday, and on Easter Monday we were mathematically safe after beating Boreham Wood with a last minute goal from Yemi. I missed the Boreham Wood game as I was still up in Cheshire.

Fair enough, maybe Macclesfield was the big win? A tiny reason to be slightly more optimistic? After the Havant win, though our best hope was one point from the two away games. If Wrexham are going off the boil a bit, maybe we might just shithouse a draw? Need the ref to be on our side a bit more than the one at Eastleigh. Not sure it was mentioned, but the Havant ref was close to being pretty decent, too much to expect another?

Funny how the ref is decent when we win ;-) I'm sure Havant might have a few complaintg, for example, after watching the highlights a few times I still can't work out who was offside for their disallowed goal.
