Not surprised. For his own development, he needs to move on.

To be honest I dont think hes progressed much as a player in the 4 years hes been here.
Hes still ridiculously inconsistent, a defensive liability and makes the exact same mistakes he made when he first got here......a return to playing ryman football is probably the best for him.

He was given his chance under Harry and looked good at first, but, sadly, it turned out that the 'Paxman given a chance' was just the same Paxman as before.
A great shame, as he was always one of my favourite players, but the NL is probably one division too high for him.

I suspect we've seen the last of Richards as well.

I suspect we've seen the last of Richards as well. In black and Amber I agree but like Fu Manchu the Stones will hear of Jack again.

Had more than enough chances far too inconsistent. Possibly one of the most frustrating players in an amber shirt. Clear ability but doesn't bring it often enough. John Stills description of players in 15 years and what if I had's could have been written about Pax

John Stills description of players in 15 years and what if I had's could have been written about Pax Pax was the first name on my mind after that interview. If he had learnt anything since joining he be a Championship player by now. Can't fault his effort but he just doesn't have the brain to match his ability.

Very sad that we're all in agreement about Pax. I can't see him being with us next season - unless JS judges that he's worth having for a season or two in the NS. But, if I were Pax, I think I'd want to move on anyway and try another club. He'd be a fantastic player at Isthmian Premier (or whatever it's called these days) level, or possibly another NS side struggling to afford decent players. Perhas Jay will take him to Margate?
Or, just maybe, he'll mature later - like Waerren Barton did for us back in the 90s? But. if these are his last days with us, I wish him all the best for the future - he seems a nice guy, as well as a decent player.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't have to wait until May for the start of the Great Pruning. If I were JS, I'd have a pretty good idea of the core 15 or so players I need to finish the season/start rebuilding by now, and I'd be 'letting go' as many of the others as soon I can. Our current squad is around 24 (depending on who/how you count), which seems a lot considering that most games we struggle to put out 11 that seem capable of playing. I'm sure you could trim that down to 16/17 or so to get through the last 10 games.

Personally I think last season Pax got a little over confident when the crowd made up a song about him an he started doing that ridiculous swagger, all very well doing that sort of thing if you got the skills to back it up but sadly the fella blows hot an cold like Fergie,s hair-dryer, but for effort alone he deserves to go with our gratitude.

Some rumours going around about Jack Paxman and none of them sounding very positive about his prospects. Not usually one to listen to car park gossip but on the other hand - - - - - In which case Jack has probably played his last match for the club. Shame. I think JP is a Jay Saunders original and there is not much of that vintage left in the squad. One of my favourite players, worked hard, good skills, always tried to pass the ball, creative etc. I suspect it won't be the last time we will see Jack playing at the Gallagher, but next time it may not be in black and amber.

Bittersweet. I liked Pax and wanted him to become a regular starter and grow into being the great NL player he may have been able to become, and he is indeed a JS1 original and so don't want him to leave, but at the same time he really is that guy in the pub in 15 years time that JS2 spoke of and so it may be time to accept that his career will be more satisfying for him at NLS or at the Gate or similar. I just hope he doesn't go to another NL side (Especially Dover, Bromley, Ebbsfleet or, heaven forbid, Bill and Ricky!) and find a mojo we could never get out of him on a regular basis! So long, Pax, wish you well.
